After no signs of Jughead, she decided to sit at the bar and hangout for a bit. She couldn’t buy herself a drink, seeing as she was under age, but an older Serpent saw Kat sitting there looking upset, and generously offered her one. Kat thanked and smiled politely at the old man as she took the drink he had boughten her, from the counter and sipped it.
“You look like you could use it.” He smirked before winking at her. He was a sweet old man. Not the average badass biker. Maybe he was one back in the day, Kat chuckled to herself.
“I could.” She chuckled, taking a swig of it. “Hey, do you know Jughead? He’s a Serpent too... Maybe you’ve seen him around?”
“Of course I know Jug. I actually haven’t seen him today though... Are you his girl?” The old man smirked, looking at her knowingly.
“No,” Kat laughed, shifting uneasily on her bar stool.
“I did see FP. Maybe he knows where his boy is.” The man said, pointing over at the staircase at the back of the bar that Kat always assumed led to FP’s office or something like that.
“Thanks, uh-?”
“Bear.” He smiled.
“Can I call you, Teddy?” She grinned. Kat couldn’t help but feel an instant connection with the man.
“Teddy it is,-”
“Kat.” She laughed, telling him her name.
“Oh! Kat and Teddy. The perfect duo.” He grinned, delighted. “Well, I better get going.” He said taking one last swig of his drink. “It was nice meeting you, Kat. I wish the best of luck to you. See you around?”
“You as well. See you around, Teddy.”
Kat turned back around to look at the staircase Teddy pointed out earlier and she noticed FP was now standing on it, about to make his way up it. Kat jumped off her bar stool and ran over to him, deciding now was her chance to ask him if he had seen Jug, who for some reason, wasn’t answering any of her text messages.
“FP!”
“Huh?” He asked, caught off guard. Kat had caught him just in time before he could close the door behind him. “Kat?”
“Hi. Have you seen Jughead? He hasn’t been answering my calls or texts...”
“Oh, I sent him out with Sweetpea. Don’t worry, nothing too crazy, but it’s a bit of a drive... He might not be back for a while. Why? What’s up?”
“Oh-uh, it’s nothing...” Kat lied, fidgeting awkwardly, squeezing her phone in her hands. She has actually confided in him in the past, so she wasn’t uncomfortable doing so again, but she was worried he wouldn’t want to hear it this time, or that he might be too busy to hear her vent.

“Actually...” She subconsciously made her way inside before continuing. “You’re a guy, right?- Don’t answer that.” FP laughed, shutting the door behind him, before letting her continue. “Hypothetically speaking, what would you do if you caught your girlfriend kissing another guy?”
“Oh- boy, uh...” FP’s eyebrows fidgeted as he spoke. “I’d probably kill ‘em.” He answered, making her chuckle.
"Kill who? You’re girlfriend?”
“Both of ‘em.” He laughed, almost resembling Billy Loomis in the 1996 film, Scream.
“I’m kidding. I’m no killer. I’d probably, beat the guy up, make sure he knows my girl is off limits. “You aren’t stupid, Kat. Far from it. Just sounds likes like he needs to figure out what- or who he wants... But, for what it’s worth, if I were you, I wouldn’t stick around for someone who has trouble choosing to stay loyal to me. You deserve so much more than that. A beautiful, kind woman like yourself, deserves a man, willing to change for you. Not an immature boy that can’t make up his mind.”
“You’re so right... Why can’t I meet a guy like you, FP? Mature, loyal, knows what he wants...”
“And what exactly is it that I want?” He questioned before eliminating the distance between her and him.
“You haven’t exactly told me yet... But I’d like to think all those times you’ve helped me through tough times and gave me advice, meant a lot more to you than you originally led me to believe- BUT I could be wrong and probably sound like a complete-” Before Kat could continue, FP cut her off by crashing his lips into hers.
“But- FP.” Kat paused between the kissing, even though she wanted nothing else more than to continue kissing him.
“What?” He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her but pulling out of the kiss.
“I need to end things with, Archie... I don’t want to be just as bad as him.”
“Right, right.” He pulled away from her and the smile on his face vanished.
“Don’t worry,” Kat smirked, getting close to him and laying a quick, yet passionate kiss on his lips. “I’ll be right back, so we can continue where we left off.”
“I’ll be waiting,” FP grinned, feeling more confidant about his actions.
“Listen, I just stopped by to say that I know about you and Veronica...” Kat began after Archie opened his front door to greet her. “And I forgive you. I realize that you and her have history and sometimes, history repeats itself...”
“Kat...” He sighed, thinking he hurt her again, but in reality she was numb to his actions. She has been for a while.
“I don’t need an apology. And I don’t want to end things on bad terms. I just want you to know that I still care about you, I never stopped. And I still wish the best for you, and Veronica if that’s who you plan on being with.”
“I am sorry though, Kat... I didn’t want things to play out like this.”
“It’s fine, Archie. I also wanted to let you know that I’ve realized that there has been someone here for me for a while now and I never noticed how much he cared for me until today... I’m actually thinking he might be the one to change my world... I like the way I feel when he looks at me. Like I wanna believe in myself. I haven’t felt that way in a long while...”
“well, I’m happy for you, Kat. And I’ll always care for you, too. Thanks for the heads up.”
“I may need some time to get situated and get used to our new ways, but I’ll see you around school, Arch.”
“I’ll see you around school, Kat.” He smiled softly, before shutting the door as she walked off his property.
