To say that Clarke has a strained relationship with her family is a massive understatement. Everyone but her uncle wants her dead because A) she apparently slaughtered her parents at a whopping thirty-seconds-old, B) there are rumors that the servants who were tasked with keeping Clarke alive under the palace were driven to madness, C) her shadow was the son of an alleged traitor which is somehow her fault even though she didn’t even get to pick Bellamy in the first place, and D) the stupid moons all took the night off when she was born. If, in a perfect world, none of those were normal things Clarke had to deal with, then there’s the fact that the royal family has a lovely tendency to murder each other. For example, her mother was poisoned, her grandmother stabbed her great-aunt to death, and their all-powerful King slaughtered each of his siblings to secure his place on the throne.

Clarke isn’t worried about being murdered. Not in this world, at least. She’ll just slip into another host, possibly setting out to stab her murderer to death but probably not, because then they would just wake up in another host and hunt her down. It’d be an exhausting waste of time, even for immortal creatures.
