I am currently writing up a gothic literature x Gachiakuta au. It will center on four specific couples and the families around them that will have major gothic motifs.
The setting of the sphere and ground will be expanded upon into a country divided. Inspired by gilded age America (think of Piltover and Zaun from Arcane). Where the magic was brought into the world, causing a golden age of new elites (magi and non-magi) and ideas. Along with mass exploitation and pollution mirroring the real life gilded age that birthed corrupted monsters (trash beasts).
A lot of the story deals with gothic themes and references so far (prominent ones):
Surebrec & Caines: Dracula & Jane Eyre
Nijikus: Wuthering Heights
Typhon & Rukel: Great Expectations
Stilza & Reaper: Carmilla
Corvus: Lenore & The Raven
Would anyone be interested? I donβt know how much of an overlap between gothic lit and gachiakuta has so I am nervous about thisβ¦
