    it was the same rush of doing music shows day in and day out to promote knightâs latest album and title track, rpm. he wasnât entirely sure how he felt about the song itself, it was okay, to say the least, and he could enjoy it. but, he really couldnât fully put his finger on the song itself - he kind of misses having brighter concepts, and felt as if bc entertainment was feeding into the concept of the newer boy groups to follow the trend. but, nonetheless, it is what it is, and he was still having fun promoting, as he always did. it was the first knight comeback of the year, they were lucky if bc gave them a second.Â
he was turning a corner, in the search of some food. he was going a place where there was no one, bare of any form of life because no one but duri really used the steps. this was known, when everyone took the elevator, duri was going up and down stairs - he just wasnât a fan of the elevator. however, he was a bit surprised to see someone else there. âah, gyujeong?â he said, head tilting. âare you okay?âÂ
arms crossed, dowoon sits with his back against the mirrored wall behind him, and he can feel the cold glass through his t-shirt. this isnât his choreography -- the choreography for 24h is honestly beyond his skill level at this point, but he hopes he can come up with formations this good some day -- but heâs still taken it upon himself to act as dance captain for the others. itâs the part of his job that he likes the most; shouting at his members until heâs satisfied with every last detail of their execution of choreography. doubly so if itâs one that he worked on. theyâre a senior group in the industry now, and their reputation is built upon their synchronization on stage.
dowoon, in particular, is proud of that fact.
as much as he would love to crash in his bed, heâd never say no to a charm member who needs some help with choreography. this is the work he loves, not all those stupid photoshoots and television appearances.
after one more run through, dowoon holds out a bottle of water to sehoon, a nonverbal invitation for him to sit.

it takes her a moment to recognize the face thatâs coming towards her, but she ultimately matches it to a charm member. thereâs thirteen of them so could you really blame her for being confused at times? nodding her head towards his direction, she advises him to take a seat besides her as sheâs somewhat glad to have found a friendly face that she could kill time with. âso what were you threatened with to attend this? less parts on your next song? or maybe a cut on solo ventures? because i canât imagine wanting to attend this thing voluntarily.âÂ

a question of time management, and he still hasnât resolved it despite breaching a near decade in the industry. each secondâs constantly spent frivolously, as of lately inside the realm of self-wallowing in misery âfucking pathetic, but in retrospect, even heâs seen better days.Â

itâs not a new thought (he has it more days than he doesnât now; itâs starting to feel like deja vu), or, he assumes, a unique one, but itâs all he can think as he alternates between sitting in knightâs waiting room and excusing himself to go pace the hallways. itâs earned him more than a few looks from a manager, who must think he keeps sneaking out to trade looks with a girlfriend like a nervous rookie, but, in truth, ash doesnât so much as make eye contact with anyone unless they greet him first.
heâs back in the waiting room for now and thankful that knight are at least senior enough to get a real room instead of a sectioned off portion of a larger room shared with five other rookie groups. food had been the motivator for returning to the room this time, but after one bite out of one of the sandwiches staff had brought back for them so they didnât have to wait in any lines in the cafeteria, any labels on the packaging ignored, ashâs stomach churns and he decides itâs not a good time to eat, so he leaves it behind and stakes out the corner of the room, headphones in, and a bad spotify playlist on shuffle. on a better day, heâd try to strike up a polite conversation with one of the members he can tolerate, but a better day isnât today, so he makes no effort at pretending heâs present in any way but the necessitated physical.

after nine years of promoting on music shows, the whole set up of comeback season had become routine to maverick. wake up early, practice constantly, fittings, photos, filming, more practice, meet fans, and promote both on music shows and some variety as well (though they personally could do without any variety shows for the rest of their career and life). nothing of this routine was odd or out of the normal for them.Â
neither was the wondering around backstage when knight werenât needed in the moment and were allowed to lounge for a bit until they were next for something. maverick enjoyed getting to watch some of the junior groups perform, and the ones they knew they attempted to give a congratulations on a job well down, or the ones they had never spoken to but were very impressed by. they didnât know many members of unity, but were close to a few, or their boyfriend was. yul wasnât someone he was particularly close with, but theyâd spoken to him on a few occasions, even once had the younger calling them pretty because they looked so similar to one another sometimes. âyul!,â they greeted, getting the youngerâs attention, âyou looked great out there!.â

OVERALL COMPANY
2021 is BC Entertainmentâs twenty-fifth year in business and the company plans to do a few things to commemorate that throughout the year. In the second quarter, the company is holding a gala with CEO Kim Byungchul as the guest of honor. The guest list mostly consists of business types for the sake of executive networking, but idols under the company are invited as well. Technically, attendance by BC idols is not mandatory, but management may push them very hard to attend if they see it as beneficial to do so.Â

DECIPHER
Decipher makes their Japanese comeback at the beginning of April and will spend the next month and a half with occasional rehearsals for the concerts theyâll hold in Japan at the end of May. Most of their time this quarter will be spent on their next Korean comeback as a priority, though. Throughout April, theyâll record the album and will go in for fittings. This comeback has a dramatized MV, so the fittings are more focused on making sure the stylistâs vision matches the directorâs vision once on the members than the probable need for any tailoring or avant garde styling. In May, theyâll get to learning the choreography and will shoot the music video ahead of the official release in June. Much of the filming will be individual for the music video since it involves a lot of acting with female actresses. Promotions for their new album will be the standard fare for Decipher: music shows, radio shows, and fan signs. This will be one of the busiest quarters of the year for Decipher, and the members are encouraged to invest themselves in group activities this quarter.

BEE
BEEâs second quarter of the year is spent riding out the rest of their most recent comeback era and preparing to make the summer comeback fans are anticipating even without any official announcement yet by recording the mini-album at the end of the quarter. The majority of April is occupied with the membersâ continued promotions for âIâll Be Yoursâ, including occasional fan signs and the continuing run of music show promotions. The song is well-received. Itâs not another number one hit in their bags, but anything BEE releases is sure to peak easily within the top ten of charts due to their status of longevity, and âIâll Be Yoursâ isnât an exception. In time they arenât promoting in April, BEE will be preparing to bring their Live Concert: B concert to Hong Kong. The set list will be the same as their Seoul dates, so rehearsals are intended to keep the members fresh on the stages and adjust to any minor set and prop changes needed due to taking the show out of the country. A photo shoot for Esquire Korea and more duties as ambassadors for 11 St round out the quarterâs activities.

KNIGHT
Their comeback in mid-April is the main event of Knightâs second quarter. Promotions have been amped up some in comparison to their last comeback in response to Knightâs album salesâ slow but consistent downward trend. âRPMâ doesnât look to be the comeback that will break that trend, but BC is throwing Knight into filming some promotional videos and appearances, not to mention a drastically increased number of fan signs, to prevent angering anymore fans, some of whom are still opposed to BCâs collaboration with Dimensions to include Knight members in CHAMPION. The latter part of the quarter will bring other activities and preparations to focus on for the members of Knight in either CHAMPION or Knight Light, and will also have the members spending a lot of time preparing for the tour theyâll embark on in the second half of the year. The earliest preparations will begin in May with dance practices and early fittings, but June will bring the bulk of learning new choreography and preparing special remixes and stages. Each member will get a chance to perform a solo stage during the tour, consisting of one of the following two options: 1) a vocal and/or rap and/or dance cover of their choice or 2) their most recently released promoted solo single (if applicable), that they will begin to rehearse in June as well.

This quarter, the pair are informed that BC plans for them to come back in July. Lipstickâs Ticket comeback is well-received. They donât have the undivided attention of the public anymore the way they once did, but their fanbase is steady in the wake of Queendom and their hold on their specific subset of the market isnât being very actively challenged these days. âTicketâ promotions proceed with the usual round of fan signs and, radio guestings, and music shows, but once they finished, theyâre almost immediately called into a meeting with the news that theyâll begin working on their next comeback right away. While BEE is most well-known as the summer queens of the company, Lipstick is marketable for the season as well and BC wants to capitalize on that by pushing them for a special summer mini-album release. In May, theyâll be briefed on the concept of the comeback and will record the mini-album. In the back half of May, theyâll learn the choreography a little more rushed than usual. As June comes around, the focus will shift to fittings and photo shoots for the album jacket and promotion materials ahead of their comeback release in July.

After CHARM finishes their Korean comeback promotions, their teamâs attention will turn to preparing for a Japanese comeback in June with a new single and mini-album. Around this time is also when CHARM will begin to rehearse for their Japan tour, which theyâll be holding in the third quarter. Luckily for them, this doesnât involve learning much new choreography, as they should already be familiar with most of it.Â

WISH
"More & Moreâ promotions carry through to the end of April. There isnât much need to bother with additional schedules like radio show guestings or filming videos for other YouTube channels at WISHâs level, especially considering BC would like to let Chroma take that attention up in April as they promote their first sub-unit debut. After promotions have ended, WISH are quickly informed theyâll need to start preparing for their next comeback, which will start a trilogy of a more elegant lean within their color pop concept. In May, after theyâve had a photo shoot for the cover of the American Harperâs Bazaar (a benefit of their recent signing with an American label), theyâll be in the studio to record the mini-album and, at the end of the month, will be spending time in the dance studio to learn the choreography. June will involve the final comeback preparations, including fittings and the album photo shoot before the members make their comeback in July.

CHROMA
While the members of Chroma Crystal make their debut as a new unit, the second batch of members slowly eases into preparations to release their solo singles in this quarter. While everyone is working on their own schedules, the members will also begin to film another predebut project BC has in mind for them â a webdrama. Theyâve been cast in these roles and in May and June, theyâll film the first season and its special clips. Multiple seasons of the webdrama are planned to get the groupâs name out. (Admin note: Characters will have the museâs name and not the Loona membersâ names.)
[Orange] will record her song and learn the choreography in April so that sheâs prepared to film her music video (which [Indigo] makes a pre-reveal appearance in) in May. This leads into her official single release in the final month of the quarter. Chromaâs fans are growing with each solo single release, hers included.
[Yellow], on the other hand, begins to record her song and learn its choreography in May (after receiving the original demo the month prior) and the music video will be filmed in June â thereâs winter imagery in the song for a âChristmas in summerâ feeling that BC thinks will make her standout, or it represents something about Chromaâs lore timeline being out of chronological order; itâs unclear as she gets different explanations from different staff that makes it seem like not everyone is on the same page. [Orange] makes a prominent appearance in her music video.
[Indigo] starts going into the studio in June to record her song, and will work on the choreography the same month, though sheâll spend the beginning of the quarter being sent demos for potential songs as BC whittles down the list to decide what sheâll debut with.
As with all previous releases, other members are encouraged to come visit the other members during their individual preparations so that the company can record behind-the-scenes videos of members interacting.

This quarter, the unit makes their debut with âGirl Frontâ and will promote on music shows for a month before immediately coming back with âSweet Crazy Loveâ. The members will hold their first fansigns over the two months of consecutive promotions. For the most part, promotions will be kept to music shows, fan signs, and a few interviews and appearances during âSweet Crazy Loveâ promotions.
On the final day of their repackage promotions, the unit will hold their first ever fanmeeting for fans. Theyâll hold two shows on the same day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The members will give live performances of âStarlightâ, âSweet Crazy Loveâ, âLoonaticâ, a medley of their solo songs, and a cover of Knightâs âMy Answerâ. Each of the three members will also have to perform a solo cover stage of their choice during the fanmeeting. They have to sing/rap for the cover (it canât be a dance-only cover), arenât allowed to cover another memberâs solo, and should keep in mind the small stage size (elaborate production and backup dancers/vocalists wonât be available). In between songs, the members will talk about themselves, such as their training experience, experiences preparing their solo and unit songs, and their hopes for the group, and at the end, theyâll take questions and requests from attendees through an open KakaoTalk chat room.
