Fluffyyorkshirepudding reblogged an ask about how terrible someone felt that âeverything is about Harry nowâ and tagged it with something like how Louis was only allowed one week of U.K. promo before âthe holo machine rolled in,â and how they knew that âputting Harry on the radarâ would push Louis to the back burner...did I miss something? Do they really consider a few fanpics at pubs and grocery stores to be promo? (I know it doesnât count as promo for Louis to them.)
Even if it was promo, which itâs not, what would be the problem? Do they really think so poorly of Louisâ capabilities? The world wonât stop just so Louis can promote his single. Harry and Louis arenât even on the same label, itâs bound to happen eventually that their promo times cross and itâs really quite terrible that people that are supposed to be Louisâ fans have such a poor regard of his capabilities
Rads have always wanted to lock Harry up in a windowless room so his existence doesnât annoy them. They were the branch of Larries who were the most against him going solo. He was fine as a member of 1D, he was fine as Louisâ supportive partner. Anything that gives Harry any sort of autonomy or attention is a problem
They come for his voice, his looks, his aesthetic, his personality, his interviews, his friends. They were sure his concerts werenât sold out. They were sure reviewers got paid for praising him. They would swear that everyone that had good things to say about him was just on the promo payroll. They made up that he was lipsyncing even when it was obvious he wasnât. They said he wasnât even actually playing guitar, even though you could hear the strum at the same time as his hand went across the cords. They say Gucci is terrible fashion. They insist that Harry didnât write his own album. Theyâve left no stone unturned when it comes to criticizing him. All of his socially aware statements and actions were dismissed as pandering or not enough, every fans reacted positively to something he did or said, they would scoff and declare it âthe bare minimumâ. They still insist that the 1.2M dollars donated by his tour mean nothing and it was just âthanks to his mostly female fanbaseâ. They completely ignore that it came from part of the proceeds from his merch and part of the proceeds from his tour tickets, which was money that was legally his and that he couldâve pocketed if heâd wanted to
I could spend all day describing all the vile things they say about him, but at the end of the day, itâs pointless. They donât hate or even dislike Harry. Iâm convinced that a vast majority of them have zero real ill feelings towards him. Their problem is that they bought a conspiracy theory. This conspiracy theory completely warped their perception of Louis and that perception of Louis doesnât match up with reality in almost anything. And itâs been years and the more time passes, the less accurate their perception shows itself to be
Theyâre frustrated and upset. They see in Harry a lot of what they want in Louis (glitter, pink, floral, delicate, vulnerability, painted nails, long hair, fashion, huge support for the LGBT community, no labels, singing about men, being teasingly flirty with men, etc). It fucks with their mind and, as a result, they lash out
Donât get me wrong, they still wouldnât like the real Harry, because Harryâs not a gold star gay cupcake that rejects women either. But Harry doesnât have a long term girlfriend he says is âthe oneâ and he doesnât have a three year old child that just wonât go away, on top of everything I mentioned. It kills them. For most Larries, Harry is a secondary character, but the Larries that are still around can use him to project onto Louis easily. The Rads just never cared about Harry, so itâs even harder for them. And they need someone to put all their anger on. They need a way to explain why their conspiracy!Louis isnât manifesting itself. So that falls on the shoulders of some invisible force, mostly Sony, Stringer, Simon, Irving Azoff. And Harry seems to be on really good terms with all of them, and his career is doing well, and heâs accomplishing the things he wants to accomplish, so heâs part of the evil machine
Louisâ complicated and staggered relationship with his music career aids their viewpoints. They will swear up and down that Louis is being fucked over. They feel that legitimizes their complaints about everything else
Itâs conspiracy theory hatred. The same one they have for Eleanor and Briana and Freddie
