Simon flattens the front of his shirt, double checking that there are no wrinkles on it before smiling into the mirror, practicing his bedroom eyes.
âWhy hello, Mr. Jace Lightwood, I hear you have a fantastic - oh fuck,â Simon says as he stubs his toe on his way to to the mirror. He bends over and lifts up his foot, massaging it to make it feel between.
âStupid chair,â he mutters mostly to himself.
Simon is beyond surprised that Jace, the cute bartender from Simonâs favorite bar, asked him on a date. Itâs ridiculous, really, because Jace is crazy out of his league, with his stupid blonde hair and stupid lips, but heâd asked Simon out anyway, and Simon isnât dumb enough to say no to that.
The truth of the matter is - Simon is beyond nervous. Despite the fact that Simon hasnât been on a proper date in about four months, Jace is also someone Simon has spent the last 3 months getting to know. The bar Jace works at is a small hole in the wall that has complicated drinks and smooth jazz, and whenever business is slow Jace always stands by Simon and chats with him about anything and everything.
Jace and Simon know each other, and that only makes Simon like Jace that much more. Because besides his lips and his hair, Jace also has an honest heart, and a smart mind. Simonâs doomed. Â
After a few more minutes of pep talk, Simon pushes his glasses up his nose and makes his way out of his apartment and into the chilly New York air. The walk to the restaurant theyâd decided to meet at is familiar, and within a few minutes Simon is making his way inside.
He finds Jace instantly, sitting at a table for two by the window and scanning the menu. Simon tries not to groan out loud at how good Jace looks. Heâs wearing a cozy taupe sweater and dark black jeans, and Simon takes a minute to drink him in before coming to say hi.
âHope you werenât waiting too long,â Simon says, startling Jace. When Jace looks up and sees Simon, however, his face breaks out into a grin, and he gets up out of his seat to properly hug Simon.
âI wasnât,â Jace responds after they pull back and both take their respective seats. âI just didnât want to be late.â
âYouâre good, dude,â Simon says with a wave of his hand, taking off his coat.
âSo, what would you like to drink?â Jace asks, and the question is stupidly familiar. Simon grins at Jace and calls over the waitress.
The dinner goes by incredibly. Simon knew that he and Jace already had a ton of chemistry, but this? This is something new and special. Jace keeps sliding his foot up and down Simonâs calf, and their hands keep inching closer to each other on the table as they wait for their meals and talk about their days.
Itâs nice.
And of course, it all goes south the minute their entrees come out.
âYouâre actually gonna eat those?â Simon asks, a look of disgust on his face as Jace picks up an olive off of his salmon with his fork and eats it. Simon pretends to gag.
âTheyâre delicious, Lewis,â Jace teases. âIâm disappointed to hear that you have bad taste in food, because your taste in men seems to be just fine.â
âOh my god,â Simon breaths out, actually facepalming. âThatâs it, this is officially the worst date ever.â
Jace laughs from across from him, and Simon likes him a little bit more for easily going along with his humor. âWe both know thatâs not true.â
Simon removes his hands from his face and studies Jace, chewing on the inside of his cheek before grinning.
âNo, itâs not. I like you despite your weird love for olives,â Simon sighs, picking up his own fork.
for @softshumjr - happy belated birthday marta! i hope you had a wonderful day, youâre a wonderful person and a great friend to have (and also the thirstiest harry stan i know) i love you lots!Â
Alec had a dilemma.
Compared to most dilemmas that he seemed to have of late, Alec supposed that this one isnât as life threatening. And yet, in that very moment, lying on the couch with Magnus snuggled into his side, this dilemma seemed to be the most important thing in his life.
Magnus had fallen asleep about an hour ago, and Alec, unable to contain himself, had curled his arms around his boyfriend and pressed a kiss to his hairline. Now, however, Alec was berating himself for being unable to want to cuddle with Magnus.
His arm was numb.
He tried to ignore it, but after a while the numbing spread from the tips of his fingers to the crease of his elbow and was slowly sneaking up towards his shoulder. He could move. If Magnus didnât look so peaceful and downright adorable while he was asleep. His head was tucked into the crook of Alecâs neck, his warm body against Alecâs, an arm and a leg draped over Alecâs own. He looked at peace for the first time in weeks, and Alec didnât want to disrupt that just because his arm was losing all feeling.
They had been through a lot, the both of them, and they finally had a moment of peace to themselves, a moment to be able to actually curl up on the sofa together and actually sleep. But the feeling going from his arm was becoming too uncomfortable. He tried to dislodge his arm as carefully as he could as to not wake Magnus, but apparently he was a light sleeper and the small movement caused his eyes to flicker open.
âAlexander, whatâs wrong?â Alec inwardly cursed himself as he ran his hand along Magnusâ back.
âNothing, my arm was just going numb. Go back to sleep babe.â Magnus looked up at Alec, a softness coating over his face as he felt a strong sense of fond for this man.
âAlexander, how long has your arm been numb?â
âNot long.â
âNot long as in just now, or not long as in the past twenty minutes?â Alec avoided Magnusâ gaze, his cheeks burning at the smirk on Magnusâ lips, knowing full well that his boyfriend was taunting him.
âIf your arm was numb darling, you should have just moved. I donât want you to be uncomfortable.â Magnus turned in his arms so that he was leaning on his chest.
âI didnât want to wake you. You looked peaceful, and you havenât been sleeping much lately. You need your sleep.â The smirk fell from Magnusâ face as he looked in astonishment at his boyfriend. Before Alec could ask what was wrong, Magnus leaned forward and captured his lips in a soft kiss. Alec felt himself melt into the feel of their lips slowly moving together, drowning in the feel of their languid movements.
Magnus pulled back enough to press their foreheads together, Alecâs hands gripping around his waist and a hand carding through Alecâs hair.
âYou truly are something else, Alexander Lightwood.â Alec turned them round so they were lying on their sides and the pair got lost in the maps of the others eyes, and eventually got lost in the lull of sleep.
summary:Â Alec Lightwood never believed in good or bad luck, but after finding out he's roommates with his highschool nemesis Magnus Bane..he's beginning to think he's cursedÂ
aka the enemies to friends to lovers fic that no one asked for

jimon + "Hey, is this going to be a real date, or am I just meeting you at a hotel to have sex in the bathroom? Given our history, I think it's a fair question." pls đ
Simonâs cab pulls up outside the hotel before Jace replies. âTypical,â he mumbles, paying the cabbie and stepping out into the cold air of New York. Heâs halfway to the elevator when his phone buzzes in his pocket, and he has to fish it out as he does a little jog to get through the door before it slides shut.
Jace: Guess youâll have to find out.
Simon rolls his eyes as the elevator starts moving, tucks his phone back into his jeans when the door opens on the 6th floor.
If Simon were a little less predictable, he wouldnât have found himself bending Jace over the bathroom counter a few moments later. Unfortunately, Simon is that predictable, and he makes sure to pull Jaceâs hair and bite at the side of his neck to leave a mark. Jace moans, loud in the small bathroom and Simon gives him what heâs begging for.
Afterwards, they have a shower to get cleaned up, separately of course. It shouldnât cause Simonâs heart to ache a little as he washes, but it does, even though he knows this thing he and Jace have been doing doesnât include the level of intimacy that requires showering together.
He dries himself off and slips back into his clothes, fully prepared to wave Jace goodbye as he leaves the hotel room. He stops short when he exits the bathroom, his phone and wallet clattering to the floor in his surprise.
âDid room service get the wrong room?â Simon asks, looking at the dinner table thatâs been set up. Itâs got candles and a single rose in a vase on it, and meals set up for two.
Jace clears his throat, and if Simon isnât mistaken heâs blushing. âI, uh. This is what people do on dates right? If you have somewhere else to be, thatâs cool. I can just eat by myself.â
Simon feels as though his heart just started beating, slotting into place as he realizes what Jace has done. âYou are the dumbest, most oblivious-â
Jace makes a noise in the back of his throat when Simon kisses him, his hands slipping beneath the shirt Simonâs just put back on. Simon pulls back when theyâre both in need of oxygen and shakes his head. âIâve been trying to get you to go on a real date with me for months, Jace Herondale.â
âOh,â Jace blinks, and then smiles that cocky little grin that Simon may or may not be falling in love with. âWell, I did tell you not to fall in love with me.â
Simon rolls his eyes. âI hate you,â he says, trying to pull out of Jaceâs embrace. âLet me go, Iâm leaving.â
âHey, Si,â Jace reels him back in, and theyâre pressed chest to chest. âI told you not to fall in love with me, but you know what? You never gave me a choice in the matter.â
