AU: Elijah (during his revenge era) takes a tumble back in time to 1001 AD (before the Trinity incident)
Thank you for the ask! The answer depends on whether he's a spectator on the side or in his own body from that age. I'm going to say spectator because that's more fun for me.
Elijah would kill Aurora before she ever met Klaus and compel everyone to forget she ever existed.
Except Tristan. He would also do this while never coming into contact with Tristan, giving him nothing and no one to blame for his slow descent into madness.
He finds Klaus at a point where he's alone, and walks by him, pretending not to be Elijah but some random person who looks like Elijah.
They fuck, and Elijah absolutely WRECKS the shit out of Klaus, just totally blows his mind and then leaves through a window when Elijah and Rebekah come back to where they've been staying, leaving Klaus behind stunned.
Elijah and Rebekah both try to ignore the implications of Klaus' aversion to telling them who he was with or anything about them, and assume Klaus was attacked by a demon. Kol figures it out from Klaus's behavior and will not stop poking at him about it.
If I were going to write this though, it would be entirely from Younger!Elijah’s point of view.

Oof, okay, I don't actually know how long this will get, so I'm putting it under a read more preemptively. Just so you know? This is the first fandom I've applied OC's to in my fan works since I was brutally torn apart for using OC's in my works. There are more OCs than will be on this list; some of the OCs I write with actually belong to my partner, so I won't be putting them here. Feel free to ask me for more details on any of these!

This man does, the “bear minimum” and Rebekah loves him for it. He remembers anniversaries, actively listens to her talk, shows an interest in her interests, reads the books she recommends. Sinner is a werebear like his father, who Sinner killed when his father attacked his mom. He then ran away from home and stayed in bear form for 10 years. I recognize that werebears don’t exist in the TVDU. He’s a werebear. I don’t know what to tell you.
Joy is the counterpart to red door Elijah, but for Klaus. He was created by magic. First, Ayana cast a spell to make Klaus forget a particular memory. Later, Esther cast a spell to mute Klaus’s more vulnerable emotions, to protect him from Mikael’s wrath. Those emotions were trapped behind a door. 1k years later, Monique Deveraux cast a spell on Klaus to create nightmares, and personified the contents of the door into Joy, because Klaus by that point had been reinforcing the door spell by deliberately repressing positive emotions in the pursuit of strength, making himself afraid of those sealed emotions.
Technically a minor character, not an OC. She’s the last harvest girl, the one Esther possessed. Esther sweet talked Cassie into letting herself be possessed for the good of the witches in New Orleans. She was trapped in her own mind, seeing what Esther did and knowing her plans. Cassie believed in Esther and trusted her until Esther abandoned Cassie in a sinking car, jumping to a new body and letting Cassie die alone, far from her coven. Her body was recovered and she was resurrected by the Mikaelsons doing and she left the coven like Davina and joined them as an apology for her part in the tragedy that befell the family.
Claire: Klelijah kisser. Doppleganger. She/her
Also technically a minor character, Claire is unnamed in the show and looks a bit different than I described her in Doppleganger. In the “Vampire book club” scene, there is a dead girl on the table bleeding onto a carpet. Claire is this girl. In my little world, her name is actually Mary, Klaus compelled her and Eliana to forget their names and only go by the names he chose for the scene he built up in his head. The entire point of that scene was for Klaus (Claire) to be a gift to Elijah for his forgiveness, which of course, as this scene eventually leads to her death at Klaus’s hands, doesn’t go well.
Eliana: Klaus kisser. Doppleganger. They/them
In my mind, Elijah sees the power play for what it is, uses Eliana as the instrument to wreck Klaus, and then deliberately rejects him. Klaus takes the win in the fact that Elijah participated, showing an interest in what was on offer. (Himself). Eliana and Claire don’t even get to be known by their own names. Eliana’s birth name is Sarah, their chosen name is Vira. They became non binary after transitioning to vampirism.
