Christmas with Roger Taylor
On Christmas Eve night, you were riffling through your bag in front of your door searching for keys. It was a long day of work, but you didn’t mind working on the holiday since Roger wasn’t around. He and the rest of the band were in the middle of a big tour and were planning on coming home just before New Years. Roger kept apologizing over and over every time you two would talk on the phone, but you always reassured that it was alright. After all, you were just happy he was able to be living out his dream.
Finally, you found your keys and opened the door to your flat. You dropped your bag in shock as you were met with your Christmas tree all lit up and decorated with plenty of presents that weren’t there this morning. However, what you were really surprised to see was Roger, who was standing next to the tree in a cozy sweater that you had bought him the year before.
“Merry Christmas darling,” Roger exclaimed with a smile and open arms.
Without a second thought, you run over to him and share a kiss, both of you smiling while doing so. Roger explained that they were able to fly home a week early, and of course he wanted to surprise you. He then brought over hot chocolate for the two of you, which was your favorite drink.
The next day you celebrated Christmas with just the two of you, never leaving your apartment. While staying in your pj's and wearing matching Santa hats, the two of you baked and decorated cookies. This of course led to frosting being everywhere, including on your faces as you playfully force-fed each other the cookies. As your favorite Chirstmas songs were playing on the record player, you exchanged gifts. Of course each one you received was perfect and thoughtful. On Christmas night you two cuddled on the sofa next to the fire, just enjoying each other’s company.
“I hope you really liked everything love. I wanted to make sure you knew how much you mean to me,” Roger said softly.
“Of course, they are all wonderful,” you replied. “However, the best gift you have given me is just being here and being the sweet, funny, and amazing person that makes me smile every day.”
