Being invited to one of these is.... strange. When you have rich friends, sometimes they bring you to a world none of the common folks have been privy to. Rebecca isn’t fond of the rich, those who take and never give, but she likes to think her friend is a little less of an asshole. Clara chose her dress, and Rebecca got to choose her mask: a baby blue dress that flows like a cloud, like the wind when she walks, with intricate shoulder straps covered in beautiful ornaments. The mask matches with similar colors and a hint of silver jewellery. Her hair has been set up in loose curls atop of her head – looking in the mirror, Becky really didn’t recognize herself: but then, isn’t that the point of a masquerade ball?
The ball is filled with colorful people dressed in various, beautiful gowns and intricate suits. But she doesn’t quite feel like she belongs... Like they can smell she isn't a part of their world. For a while she’s alone, picking a vegetable, a piece of cheese from the buffet, until a pretty lady smiles at her from across the chocolate fountain. Her lips are red like blood, her skin like porcelain – she looks like a pretty doll you keep in a collection. Becky smiles back, then lowers her gaze, feeling a slight self conscious....
