Today I got ‘The Flaming Lips Aboard the International Space Station Concert for Peace’ cd in the mail. I love the Flaming Lips and this is ‘reimagined’ version of Oczy Mlody, one their most atmospheric albums (and one of my favorites. Wayne’s liner booklet evokes the whole sci-fi optimism and UFO wonder of the ‘70s. The companion to Wayne Coyne’s King’s Mouth art exhibition, which I heard about before seeing pictures of and I gotta say it looks a lot lamer than I was picturing. But the paintings are stunning, and they’re all over the covers and liner notes.
