여름하면 어떤 생각들이 떠오르는가? 뜨겁게 내리쫴는 햇살? 혹은 초여름의 장맛비? 나는 이번 작품을 동해 여름하면 떠오르는 부정적인 것들에서 벗어나게 하고 마치 피서지로 떠나는 듯한 즐거운 기분을 느끼게 해 주고 싶었다. 작품 제목인 ‘Flamingle’은 내가 제일 좋아하는 여름의 대표적인 동물인 ‘Flamingo’와 ‘어울리다‘의 뜻을 가진 ‘Mingle’의 합성어이다. 더운 여름 부정적인 생각을 떨쳐 버리고 플라밍고와 즐거운 여름을 보내길 바라며 표현해 보았다.
