Flamborough Head Stacks and Peninsula, East Yorkshire
The ancient earthworks of 'Dane's Dyke' provide strong archaeological evidence of the strategic importance of this biodiverse and striking peninsula in the distant past.

Four of my favourite bird of prey photos this year; Peregrine at Durlston, Dorset in July, Buzzard at Hook-with-Warsash, Hampshire in March, Osprey at Lossiemouth, Moray in April and Short-eared Owl at Flamborough, Yorkshire in June.

Some more shots of Flamborough, got some close ups of the rocks, algae and seaweed. Absolutely loved it.
Flamboroughs coast
In the Church of St. Oswald, Flamborough, U.K., to the left of the altar is the tomb of Sir Marmaduke, Constable (d. 1530). Nicknamed “The Little”, he served under Henry VI, VII and VIII. On the tomb is a fragment of a carved skeleton with a curious lump on its chest. This is said to represent a toad that Sir Marmaduke accidentally swallowed and which ate at his heart until he died.
