Can I just rant for a second?
I'm sick of seeing the hate athletes are getting for kneeling or sitting during the national anthem. There isn't a law that says we have to stand and put our hands over our hearts. Someone decided that's how it should be done and because we're sheep, we follow. These guys aren't turning their backs on the flag, they're not cutting up during the anthem, they're kneeling sovereignly while it's played, and it some ways that's even more reverent than standing. For those that are hating on this peaceful protest, maybe take a look at the reason behind it. And also look at yourself and figure out the real reason you're against it.
I know people probably arenât keeping up with whatâs been going on with the NFL with the Kaepernick not standing for the national anthem, so Iâd like to fill you guys in if youâd be so kind to give me the opportunity.
Numerous players in the NFL are now considering following Kaepernickâs model, and sitting down as well.
NFL Network had an open table discussion, WITH BLACK ANALYSTS, praising Kaepernickâs actions, and asking the important questions that need to be addressed. They werenât just talking about Kaepernick. They were talking about black lives. This is so important. They didnât just talk about the controversy--they talked.about the message behind the controversy.
You donât have to watch the games, but keep an eye on the NFL this year. I donât think this is just a flash on the pan. I think this will be very important this year.
