before i watched thor ragnarok i didn’t quite understand the overflowing love for taika waititi everyone had on here, but after watching it, i’m like. he really did that. he really put in an intelligent subtext about colonization, whitewashing of history, and the immigrant experience in a movie about norse gods in space. in a fandom where straight white male voices are overwhelmingly dominant. while giving really interesting character arcs to everyone in the main cast. what a flex

I adore how she carries his head low, at her side, and not aloft in triumph. This is not a self-aggrandizing hero lauding her great deed. This is a woman who wanted to be left the fuck alone.

This is disgusting. It really is. I hope that people gain awareness of this issue and their own situation and I really hope that we all find better.

I appreciate the hell out of the women reblogging this. As a survivor of such emotional abuse, I know it’s vital for men to step forward and talk about their experiences. The old “man up” narrative needs to die.

Absolutely right. Abuse is abuse, no matter the gender

Hey, guys. Please don’t treat guys being abused, physically or emotionally, as a joke or “just how relationships go” any more than you would tell a woman it’s pretty cool that a dude loves her so much he puts his fist through a wall next to her head.  The way in which shitty expectations about power and gender hurt everyone involved, and the way in which those same expectations obscure that hurt? That’s 100% a feminist issue.
