I want to apologize for being quiet these last few months. I've been dealing with health issues and working a lot. That being said, my fiancé's year of sobriety is coming up. For the most part he has been doing well and did relapse once, which yes relapses happen and he picked himself up. He's been opening up to me more about his past, and about his addictions. Including alcohol and drugs.
What concerns me is this last month, I've been noticing odd things. Those things are possibly signs of drug use again. His current job is in a factory with not the best people. He's been sniffling more lately. And now he's suddenly getting more and more out of money. I don't want to keep giving him money for gas, he drives an older ford ranger which goes through gas quickly, because now I'm not sure he is using it for that. He said he is taking a coworker home after work who lives close because he doesn't want to leave him without a way home.
Yes, I'm aware of the signs and I have talked to him. He always has an answer, but I get a feeling that he isn't telling me the whole truth.
I guess I need help with how to talk to him? How do I get him to not leave out details? When I ask him a question, he is careful to answer me and sometimes gives a vague answer. How do I get him to not be so vague? How do I approach him without him getting super defensive?
