Fish Breeding Season Is Getting Underway! - Endler's, Celestial Pearl Danios, White Clouds!
The warmer spring weather has officially kicked off breeding season in my fish room!
One of my female Endler’s Livebearers just gave birth to six healthy fry, and they’re all doing great so far. Meanwhile, one of my female Platinum Medaka is currently carrying eggs—so with a little luck, I’ll have some Medaka fry on the way soon as well.
My White Cloud Mountain Minnows never stop breeding; I’ve already spotted a few fry in their tank and expect even more to appear any day now. I’m also pretty sure my Celestial Pearl Danios have started breeding—I’ve seen females scattering eggs in the Dwarf Sagittaria. Unfortunately, the snails in that tank seem to gobble them up almost immediately.
There are now countless Neocaridina shrimp carrying eggs across multiple tanks, and I’ve already seen a few baby shrimp popping up—with plenty more to follow.
And finally, I’ve noticed several fresh clusters of Ramshorn snail eggs, so I’ll definitely be seeing a lot more baby snails in the near future too.
