the sun began to peak through the blinds he had forgotten to fully close last night. the golden beams of warmth slipped through and made everything it touched glow. though how she could get even more lovely, he didn’t know, he was awestruck. her face was pushed into the pillow with her hair sprawled out across her back. gently and carefully, so not to startle her, he pushed her hair away from her face and neck, knowing how much it would irritate the girl.
her back exposed to the greedy hands of the sun gave her such a celestial brilliance that captivated him. tearing his eyes from her face and onto her bare back, he traced the freckles on her skin ever-so-lightly. connecting the dots of the constellation of birth marks on her back, he could only recognize what it formed from her endless inspiring drab led about the stars. andromeda. fitting, it always made him smile. a beauty forever immortalized in the sky lay soundly asleep in his bed. he thanked the stars that they gave him their most prized possession.
he genuinely couldn’t believe how lucky he has gotten with her. watching the darling sun rays illuminate her features as her back rose up and down in a soft, slow, peaceful manner identical to the most pleasant of dreams, made him swoon. how could one being, so perfect and divine, settle for such a cursed man as him? all the prophecies, all the quests, all the monsters, everything that followed percy and all that undoubtedly waited for him in the future, why would she condemn herself to this?
he would never be able to comprehend why but he knew he was glad she did, because soon did he realize, she would be the only thing he needed. his hope. his love. his peace. his joy. his determination. his fire. his will. his mind, body, and soul.
“mm, you’re staring,” she mused, peaking out from the pillow her face was tucked in.
“can’t i admire fine art when i see it?” he sank further in the bed to bring his face closer to hers.
“you are, so, cheesy.” she pretended to groan but couldn’t help the smile creeping up her face.
“hm,” he shrugged it off. “go back to bed, my love.”
“we’ll have to wake up eventually,” she couldn’t fight the hand that started aimlessly crawling around her back. painting warm goosebumps that faded as quick as they came.
“we’ll wake when the time comes, let’s just enjoy staying in bed right now.” with her still laying face down, percy pressed his face into her neck. stamping a ghost of a kiss on her shoulder and laying his forehead against it.
“look at that. you’ve convinced me,” she giggled and nestled further into bed. his arm crept along her back and wrapped softly around her waist.
he knew now, that she was his love. his savior. and damnation. because gods, he would do anything for this girl. he would do everything for this girl.
