I have a theory that our Mars can represent how our father/father figures instilled confidence within us fueling our drive, competitive nature, survival instincts, and how we express anger from early childhood.

This is my working theory to further understand the role of the planets and our Psyche based on Freud's psychoanalytical model from the article Id, Ego, and Superego by Saul McLeod.

The Sun( Ego): how we project our energy, the essence of our relationship with our father,

Saturn( Super-Ego): the parental /authority figure, the foundation for ideal behavior

Mars( the ID) : base nature, anger, arousal, hunger/drive, what attracts us to potential partners, instilled confidence, things we observe and learn from early childhood to survive.

For example:

I have a natal Saturn in the 7th House RX

and natal Mars in Libra in the 12th House.

I idolized my father growing up because he was the absent parent, while my mom was always there for me. As a kid, when my parents fought I thought if I became the mediator that I could bring harmony and convince my parents to makeup. I learned that it's not my job as the child to mediate and it's always better for parents to separate than stay in a toxic situation.

I was estranged from my dad during my teen- early college years after acknowledging his lack of accountability and presence in my life.

I deduced that my approach to confrontation and taking action was indirect or internalized for many years. I was afraid of conflict, but always had an inner battle within me. When I would freeze or become silent in confrontation sometimes my subconscious anger I had repressed and built up would resurface and be used as my defense mechanism. Sometimes justifiable righteous anger and sometimes lashing out at the wrong time or person.

My mom moves in life with such consistent tenacity and power (Her Mars in Scorpio). She can get up and complete projects with such focus and force.

My father has ambitious charisma fueling his drive. He can be impatient and has difficulty staying consistent, if he can't see the end goal ( His Mars in Sagittarius).
