This post is an astrological breakdown of Mars as the strategic diplomat, the fighter for the underdog, the lover, the one who values security over competition, the advocate for social justice, the over-thinker, and the one who works behind the scenes to get shit done.

My name is Qu33n Makeda, a Black lady astrologer. I will be using myself as the first example.

My influences are from my grandma with Mars in Pisces,

my ma with Mars in Scorpio, my cousin with Mars in Leo,

and my father with Mars in Sagittarius.

I have a theory that Mars in the chart shows us how our fathers instilled confidence within us, therefore how we show up and execute our goals. I was raised by my maternal side of the family and had an estranged relationship with my father growing up.

Growing up I repressed my anger due to the fear of losing control, fear of being seen as the angry black girl, and being ignored for expressing normal emotions.

This manifested in childhood as high awareness to others emotions, and sensitivity when others would directly express their discomfort. I'm unlearning how to repress my emotions and anger and instead utilize my anger before I let it rot within.

Mars: willpower, anger, arousal, how we execute tasks, Libra is the mental initiator that uses strategy and cooperation to execute their goals. Cardinal signs initiate because they represent the beginning of the seasons. 12th House: subconscious, loss, dreams, misfortune, karma, mental illness, service to others ( receiving and giving), charity, hidden/repressed emotions

I have Mars in Libra in the 12th House which shows up to provide harmony in a social settings and organize the chaotic patterns. I work best behind the scenes interpreting meaning in a harmonious manner.

Observing the current news makes one exhausted and numb with the current global state, but I've learned anger is the spark to get shit done or it can be our undoing.

Weaknesses/flaws associated with this unevolved placement: low self esteem, perfectionist, repressed emotions, people-pleasing tendencies, co-dependent, self-isolated, over-thinker, lethargic, avoidant of confrontation, silent battles, indecisive, procrastination, disconnected from reality, clumsy, addicted to sex, drugs, and external validation. Cancer Mars is a fall placement in the astro chart because its ruler is uncomfortable with Mars.

Libra and Taurus Mars are detriment because it opposes Mars in astrology.
