Two amazing fics! For Jaime/Brienne Monthly Madness - March - Supernatural elements
Tell me about Weary Kitchen
I answered this one here. Kinda. Somewhat. I have a general idea that makes perfect sense in my head. Anyway since I've already answered, here's another little chunk.
The refrigerator door was cool against her back, and she was fairly sure a magnet shaped like the letter Z was digging into her spine, but Brienne couldn't have moved if her life depended on it. It felt so good to simply be still, to let her body rest without anyone touching her, or asking for things, or needing her attention. She let her head fall back, her eyes shutting. She didn't want to see her cheerfully cluttered kitchen, or the lego tower scattered across the floor.Â
Her eyes were still stinging, from the smoke her burnt sandwich had emitted or from her frustrated tears she wasn't sure. Whoever had said that women could have it all was full of shit, she decided. Either that or she just sucked at being that woman.
"It's just burnt lunch, babe," Jaime's voice came from behind her, low and soft. "No sense in crying over a grilled cheese sandwich."
"How about a grilled cheese sandwich and accidentally hanging up on an angry client and yelling at my daughter?" Her voice broke a little on the last word.Â
You've done JB, so could I get Phryne and Jack and Miss Fisher as mugs/cups?
I am happy to do all JB responses should it turn out that way but I am also happy to attempt this.
Please enjoy.....Phrack Drinking Implements!
A kiss paired with a tight hug, knocking the breath out of the person being hugged?
Thank you for the lovely prompt. This obviously ran away from my be kind to your broken arm and write 3 sentence things concept.
She knows the exact moment Jaime notices her - she doesnât know how else to describe it other than the morning sun leaping straight to middayâs relentless brightness. His obvious joy (his smile, brighter than any memory can contain) melts and reforms the anxiety her stomach in all new twists and knots.
While Brienne spends few seconds saying quiet thanks to her ribcage for butterfly-net catching her somersaulting heart, he has shoved his way out of the small crowd of other ferry passengers and onto the docks.
And then heâs flying toward her, bags dropped haphazardly on the wooden boards, and she only has a moment to think âsomeone could trip over themâ and awkwardly raise her arms, not quite to stop or to embrace him, and then his are wrapped around her with impact that leaves her breathless.
Jaime laughs, hugging her even tighter and lifting her momentarily from the ground. She lets out a startled laugh, clinging to his shoulders instinctively and the contact seems to pour his giddiness into her, like heâs an overflowing golden goblet (she wants to hold him like this forever, wants to know how his joy would taste when glittering on their mouths).
And then she does, because the moment her feet are back on the ground he surges upward and kisses her. Itâs everything; surreal and a smidge awkward at first angle, and sweeter than anything she could have tried to imagine (which she had).
âWhat was that?â Brienne asks when they part, her voice sturdier than the swirl of uncertain joy and hope making messy tornado of her thoughts.
âI wanted to start the summer right, like I should have last year,â he explains, taking on hopeless war with wind to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear with gentleness that hits a bullseye on a yearning target she wasnât even aware she had. But then his affectionate smile falls as he freezes.
âI... I just missed you so much, but I should have asked or waited--â
She doesnât to kiss him again.
(Brienne is mortified when her father seems to know about it before they even make it back to the house, but she doesnât regret it, not even when Jaime suggests reenactment for the general store aunties if theyâll give a discount.)
Send me prompt and maybe Iâll write a short thing?<3

Hereâs a hypothetical 5+1 outline for Knots, which is a companion piece to Strings written from Brienneâs POV:
ă1ă When she said goodbye that night, she really meant it to be goodbye for good. Something about Jaime felt dangerous in a way it had never been with any other man. It wasnât just his looks, though she canât say she had been immune to them. But she didnât want to give herself the space to dwell on it. A friendship with Jaime would give her that space; heâd learned that lesson with Renly, a long time ago. Renly had never touched her, though. Never fucked her against a door. Later, she blames the alcohol for what happened. It must have been the alcohol.
ă2ă She hates that he stops calling her ârookieâ. She hated that he called her that, and now she hates that he doesnât, because it only makes it clear that something changed between them. She doesnât want change. She just wants to put everything behind her and pretend she doesnât think of how he held her against the door when she touches herself at night. Then, he tells her to come over, and she does, against her better judgment. When Jaime asks her to stay, and she doesnât, she canât decide if thatâs her better judgment.
ă3ă She must have been out of her mind when she agreed to go on a date with Hyle. But how bad could it be? Sheâd slept with him once before, and barring the things she found out later about why heâd wanted to sleep with her at all, she supposed it was fine. She doesnât think about how âfineâ isnât enough for her anymore, after all the nights sheâd spent with Jaime. She isnât really sure why she told Jaime about Hyle, though. Sheâd agreed to the third date because she hadnât had the guts to tell Hyle that it just wasnât working for her. She was planning to end it after the third date anyway, so it really wouldnât have affected the arrangement with Jaime. And then Jaime had reacted the way he did. It made her angry, but it also made her hope. Hope is a dangerous thing.
September 22nd?
September 22nd - Childhood friends with meet-cute
(idk how cute this is, but I did my best lmao)
They bond over horses.
Jaime isnât allowed to collect the model horses that Brienne and her friends trade and swap at recess. His father thinks toy horses are for girls, for some reason. Like thatâs a thing. Jaime tells her this later, when theyâre friends. But for now, he just says, âI like your horseâ, and she thinks heâs making fun of her.
When she ignores him, looking down at the workbook open on the desk in front of her, he leans in closer. She can see him inching bit by bit across the aisle.
âBrienne,â he whispers.
âWhat?â she hisses, keeping an eye on Mr. Tarly at the front of the room.
âI said I like your horse.â
âOkay,â she says. She waits for him to say something else. She doesnât want to look at him, but she gets antsy when he doesnât speak. When she finally looks his way, he looks a bit expectant. Heâs eyeballing the white horse thatâs sticking out of the unzipped top of her bag. Brienne is eight years old, and she likes to make sure the horses can breathe.
âCan I hold her?â he asks. Heâs not quiet enough. Jaime Lannister is never quiet enough, and heâs always getting into trouble with Mr. Tarly, but Mr. Tarly is distracted by something on his computer, and luckily he doesnât hear. Brienne has never talked to Jaime before, even though theyâve been in the same class for months now, and this is exactly why. Heâs too much. She doesnât understand him.
âItâs a he,â Brienne says. âAnd you can hold him at recess if you really want.â
âWhatâs his name?â
She almost doesnât answer. But he doesnât seem like heâs making fun of her.
âHonor,â she finally says, and Jaime grins.

Unicorn sequel! I'd ask about you know what but I also don't want to die so... đ đ đ
đ Iâll get you later donât worry. @ice-connoisseur also asked about Unicorn sequel and since I donât have much more to say about it, Iâll tag you both in this one. :)
The main thing I know about the Unicorn Incident sequel is that itâs going to be called The Lion-Lizard Incident and it centers around the Queen of Thorns holding a party where she announces a contest to get the Lion-Lizard that injured her grandson Willas.
Shenanigans ensue.
