Have you played any Subnautica? I finally realized why the warpers seem so familiar. They look kind of like Harbinger. (A picture of a warper with "assuming direct control" over it probably isn't blog appropriate, but I figured the mental image would be amusing.)

A friend of mine I talked to explained their feelings on Andromeda vs original trilogy and explained it as the original trilogy felt more like an action movie, whereas Andromeda feels more like a TV series, and I think that's pretty accurate for my feelings. I tried to keep Andromeda and the new game separate in my head so I wouldn't compare them too much, bc I knew going in it just wouldn't live up to my expectations if I expected it to be exactly the same.
That’s an interesting comparison - the OT to me always felt so much like Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica so I always associate it with more TV-show esque pacing (with all the dialogue). But I think in that context your friend was talking about it makes more sense - the plot of the OT definitely felt more tightly focused, compared to Andromeda where you sort of stumble into the conflict and premise as you’re going through the game.

This series has been with me and with you and so, so many other readers who have followed it for so, so long that I'm starting to regret the notion of completing it this year. However, I know what these final two long stories need to look like and what I need to accomplish in them, and people who have been waiting ages for this to be completed so that they can finally read it will get a reprieve. You know how I tend to go back to things over time and mess with minor additions anyway; even finished, I have a hard time imagining this series will go quietly. Thank you for being one of the people to give life to this for so long; my readers are active participants. You matter so much.

Well, we’re getting into some atypical functionality territory here that I guess shouldn’t surprise me given I’m already kind of unusual (and neither of those two tags cover the cancer-risk mutation genes, either). I’ve been doing this since I was in my early-to-mid teens at least, and I’m in my early-to-mid 30s now. I can go six or seven days on only two to five hours a night. Past that, the crashes happen; I’ll end up sleeping ten to twelve hours per night for two or three nights in a row, so I time that for my weekends and pray. Sometimes I end up running a week to a week and a half, maybe two weeks, on under six hours a night. That’s when immune system crashes sometimes happen and sometimes don’t. Aside from illness taking me out pretty badly when it manages to catch me, I actually recover from any other kind of injury remarkably quickly. I’ve had four surgeries since 2012, two of those quite major, and I recovered fully from all of these in minimum time and without complications (as well as with full nerve functionality where I was never, ever expected to regain it). This is more or less to say that I don’t know how I’ve been lucky enough to make it this far; health problems aside, my body can do some remarkable shit, and without some of that, I would never get as much writing done as I do. I’ll sleep when I’m dead (and maybe not even then; being a ghost would at least be interesting).

From my wanderings through Hannigram blogs, I've noticed that a lot of TJLCers seem to be hopping over to our boat (if they weren't here to begin with)... and this disturbs me. It seems they only want in because there are canon gays, when you should be in a fandom because you genuinely enjoy the source material (and community).
I would say that Hannibal of all fandoms should know what to do with the terminally rude, except that I don’t think most of them would taste very good.

Serious answer: I think he was just trying to say that Shepard was like Alec because they’re also N7, but it’s weird to say “takes after you” since you usually use that when talking about a child or protegee.
