READ FULL POEM BELOW ------------------------------------------------------------ I've heard of the crossroads - Where the street of forlorn hope Meets the sweet retreat of dispair. In that barren disrepair stands a single tree; With its roots as deep as its limbs are free. At the calyx of its sepulchre A wandering nebular mist nests - misbegotten - Singing a song long fogotten; "As above, so below, We each feed the other, Reaching, leeching, inching slow." I've heard the tree flowers clouds That bring rain in spades, and sunny shades. Yet, where I stand, it's also true - That these streets run parallel too, And there's no such tree, No misty mystery. So I walk on, I inch ahead, Hope and fear each at other's throats Apprehension mists the cranium-bred, Anticipations, yet, afloat. Today marks the first day of my meditation practice. I have been contemplating this for years. At 12:36 PM, Sunday, February 10th I Googled “Meditation”. Many came up. Too many. But I didn’t obsess as I tend to do, I just picked one. I truly believe I was directed to the one that was meant for me... The Berkeley Meditation Center. Even though I was anxious about choosing the right place, I didn’t allow myself to hesitate. I moved forward and made a prompt 2 PM appointment, went and loved it. I knew it was right. Even better, my membership extends from Berkeley to Beverly Hills.
