As we all know, hufflepuffs are loyal, fair, hard working, and honest.

Recently l, a huff, have had to question my own character. It’s been like 3 ish weeks? Since I’ve broken up with my now ex-boyfriend.

I feel as if I am disloyal since I was the one who broke up the relationship. I never thought I’d leave behind a genuinely good person.

I feel as if it is unfair to you that I randomly fell out of love twice and had to break things off. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have someone love you one day and not the next.

I feel as if I didn’t work hard enough to salvage the relationship. Maybe I could’ve done something different, something more, to keep us together.

But

Breaking up was honest.

I stayed loyal to our promise of honesty. Releasing you from my inconsistent love was fair. And I did work hard to ensure it was a healthy breakup.

Breaking up is not a bend in The Hufflepuff Character™️, but rather an extension of it.

(If you are somehow reading this post, I want you to know that I’m sorry I couldn’t be the one to give you the love you deserve. Because you deserve an absolute, complete, and whole love. And all I can offer is a broken love.

Of course sometimes I’m tempted by the selfish thoughts of keeping you in my life, especially when it gets lonely. But I refused to continue hurting you and I will remain true to that decision.
