FINALLY! Oh my goodness, weâre finally here. Iâm gonna try to get back on track, although weâre nearly halfway through the year so I think Iâm more than a hundred pages down (oops O_o). NEVERTHELESS, I had a burst of inspiration and some free time today, so Iâve made a new start on this thing. If youâre new to this, or itâs been a while and you need to read from the beginning, start here. Otherwise, letâs continue from where we left off:

âYou donât remember anything? A name, how old you are?â
The girl shook her head, taking a handful of reddish hair and running it through her hands.
Riffin and Elyn traded a look and sighed almost in unison.
The group had spent the last three days going through NeâRun, trying to find family and coming up empty-handed. Theyâd decided that the girl would stay with them, and were trying to work through her apparent amnesia to find somethingâanythingâout about her.
âWell the girl needs a name. Do you have any ideas, kid? Itâs going to be your name, after all,â Jamas said, walking into the room.
Shrugging, the girl looked between the three of them with wide eyes.
Elyn sighed quietly, leaning back. âI donât think weâre going to get anything out of her, boys. Looks like her name and everything is up to us.â
After a long deliberation, they decided upon the name Ineora Sayturiââshe seems to like you the most, Elyn; weâd might as well give her your last name,ââand that this was to be her birthdayââsay she just turned seven. Thatâs about how old she looks.â
They sent the child off to amuse herself nearby while they tried to figure out just what to do with her.
âA child is far from thief material,â Leony pointed out. âEspecially one so naĂŻve.â
Dinan rolled his eyes. âA child with no memory of the past several years is practically expected to be naĂŻve. She doesnât know how bad the world is, doesnât remember general human kindness or cruelty.â
Runa watched the girl for a few seconds before saying anything. âShe may be more perceptive than weâre giving her credit for.â When faced with six questioning looksâand one understanding from Riffinâshe motioned at their huddle. âNo matter how naĂŻve one is, who would willingly come with a group of people that look like us? We clearly donât look the part of heroes that save amnesiac children, and weâre made up of primarily older people. Of course we know we donât go around killing people or some shit, but others donât. Most kids would have run the other way or just outright refused.â
âHer future is almost entirely up to us. Has anyone here ever actually raised a kid before?â Endin asked, his green eyes gazing over each of them.
Runa shrugged. âAfter my parents died I basically raised my three younger brothers. They turned out alrightâexcept for Ferris . . .â She trailed off, lips pursed. âMorgan and Soren are fine, though.â
Chuckling quietly, Dinan leaned forward. âMy wife and I had a few kids before everything. You could say Iâve had a bit of experience.â
âSee, Endin, this kid isnât entirely fucked.â Adar grinned. âMaybe a little if we leave it all to Runa, but for the most part this kid should be fine.â
Most of the afternoon was spent discussing just what Ineoraâs future would most likely consist of, until they eventually came to an agreement. Of course they knew nothing was set in stone; that the girl would change over the years and that theyâd have to adjust a lot of it as time went on, but just having something resembling a plan gave them some peace of mind.
