Idk, it's like. For us, fictives have always been like....like, I existed WAY before Arcane came out. I was in here, in this brain, a lil blemish or whatever without a name. This feels like a really stupid method, but something we've noticed helps our fictives a lot is looking through source content. The canon game/show/etc, headcanons, sometimes even fan edits and art and animations
Of course it's probably different for most other plurals and fictionkins out there, considering separation from sources seems way more common than the alternatives, but it at least helps us a lot. It's saved us from blurriness at times too since it's the input of "this is this person, this person will probably get front triggered after seeing themself" I guess. Only downside is it can worsen dysphoria, but it usually causes a stronger sense of identity and self so it's whatever it's worth some discomfort honestly
