It sucks being a fictive of a popular fandom. I mean first off you have the obvious reasons (people unable to be normal about fictives). But it especially sucks when you don't fit Canon and especially if you don't fit what is "fandom acceptable"
Like, I formed back before Jax was confirmed to be transfem. Changed a bit from then to now (mostly because I was more a fragment back then), but I only really seem to have gotten further from "acceptable". My gender is weird in which sometimes in headspace I'm perceived as transmasc and sometimes sorta cis? Idk. That's not important.
Unfortunately transfem Jax content makes me uncomfortable (no, I don't hate transfem Jax, it just makes me dysphoric/feel weird). Yes I blocked the tag. Also not quite what this post is about, why the fuck am I rambling? Once again the hosts need to over explain is rubbing off on my posts. *sighs*
What I am trying to say is I would be considered "wrong" in most fandom spaces. If I want to interact with fandom (because I'm self centered and love fan art of myself), I can't find really any content that feels like me anymore. (I swear if someone takes this as me hating transfem jax I will lose my mind. She's a trans woman in Canon which is good for her). Hell, I'd love to find transmasc content (I know, crucify me), but even stuff before my source was confirmed to be transfem is impossible to find transmasc stuff of because even back then transmasc jax was viewed as "wrong." Hell, some got harassed over it from what I've seen. And definitely now there won't be any because obviously turning a trans woman into transmasc is pretty distasteful in fandom spaces. (I swear once again do not misinterpret this post).
And I don't feel like having to justify interacting with "wrong" content because I'm a fictive. I don't feel like outing myself like that and I don't feel like dealing with that mess. Etc etc whatever. Is my point getting across at all?
For fuck sakes this post is a mess. I'm still posting it fuck it.
Anyways the summary of this post is: It sucks being a fictive of a popular source because fandom fucking sucks. And it specially sucks when you're "wrong."
Send post fuck this incomprehensible mess
