The way it just....sits on ya like a cart full of shit." She said a bit more somberly. "Maybe it works for some people, but I'm sick of it. Been sick of it. I wanna be something else. Something more ME. Without causing you problems."
That curiosity turns to amusement as Jinx continues her half-explained thoughts. That wonderful mind of hers always works in such alien ways compared to everyone else heβs known, and it gives her incredible leaps that heβs known nobody else to make. Not even Corin thinks like her, and the doctorβs probably the most intelligent man he knows.
But Singed is logical in his knowledge. Itβs easy to track his inferences. Jinx, however, leaps from thought to thought without predictability. It utterly fascinates the chem baron. So, when his daughter finally gets to her core concern, it takes Silco aback a little and takes him a moment to process her meaning. βYou want to change your identityβ¦?β That seems to be the gist of what sheβs saying.
Contrary to her belief, he doesnβt actually understand all that well. Silcoβs always been certain of who he is, even though the rest of Runeterra might not see it that way. Their views never mattered to him. But his lack of understanding doesnβt prevent him from accepting that she wants to change. He closes the ledger heβs been pouring through and sets it aside, giving his daughter his full attention.
βAlright,β the industrialist says simply, βtell me what youβve really been feeling, Jinx.β Without the lens of what might inconvenience him. What does she need?
Jinx relaxed a bit as she saw Silco put the ledger aside. It was those kind of shows of affection that other people might miss that really mattered to her. She dropped the pen back on the desk and swung her legs a bit.
"I like the whole 'Jinx' thing. But I hate being a girl." Jinx explained. "The name and the....like, the fear element. I don't really wanna give that up but... I'm sick of being a girl. I...I wish it was like clean and logical like you, knowing you're a boy, but I might not be a girl or a boy?" She shook her head. "I wanna be....I wanna do whatever pronouns and look means that I'm some gender in between. Something without rules like girls and boys. I just...dunno if I can do that, really, without faking my death first."
People online say "make sure to tell your doctor to put it in the chart if they prescribe you medication that you've warned them will be bad for you!" and then you tell doctors and they're like "that's not necessary, you can just call into the clinic if you have side effects. See you in 3 months!"
Similarly with asking for tests. People online are like "ask your doctor for the tests that you need, and if they refuse, have them put the refusal in your chart!" and doctors just go "no, I don't need to, because those tests aren't necessary. See you in 3 months!"
Like....I'm paying them so much damn money but I have zero control and I just get prescribed shit that ruins me mentally or causes heart issues and there's no way to make a record of it through the doctor because who the hell wants to write down that they're doing a bad job?!
I think all that advice is just bullshit to shut up the chronically ill, same as people who tell you to call 988 and think that solves everything when really it just puts the burden of finding help on you and makes it your failure even if you do as they say. Cuz they meant well! They tried to help! It's YOUR fault you can't live fucking normally!

We've got the basic shoujo fantasy romance to start with, focusing on the main 3 girls who look most like traditional magical girls, before it suddenly gets dark. Cuz I can't resist a genre twist. Basically they're Hatsune Miku, Kasane Teto, and Ia!
That dark tone rolls into the next part of the story, focusing on a time traveler and a gender dysphoric knight. This one is slower paced, more adult, sort of a seinen feel. Philosophy, a small taste of politics, and untreated depression! Megurine Luka and Kiyoteru.
Then it goes more to shounen action fantasy with the Rin and Len characters, a virgin samurai, a gang leader with DID, and a chronically ill dragon boy. By now, the world is really crumbling, and we get a lot of symbolism and insanity in the art style. The dragon boy is Kaito but try to guess the other two!
The characters all come together in the finale, all in the same style, and we start really pushing the fantasy/dreamlike look of collapsing timelines, past lives, and the realm of the gods.

is it worth buying silksong.. or do you need to play the first one before curious about the game
Silksong is a fantastic price so I think it's worth it just for the art! But definitely play Hollow Knight first, it'll give you a little taste and you can decide if you like the platforming and fighting style enough to get into Silksong. Cuz the second game is notoriously harder than the first lol
