This is possibly a shot in the dark (i really hope this isn't too niche lmao) welcome to my red dead redemption RP blog! Some of these are both my own headcanons and really for any others who may be interested! I'm open to so many new ideas!
I've been into this game for a while now, and knowing me and the type of stuff/blogs I post on, this was really a long time coming. I have so many thoughts about how the gang would handle regression, whether they would or not, who would, their dynamics with each other, it's all so intriguing to me! This is just a side blog to my main @outlandish-dreamer, similar to my Charles Offdensen blog, but I plan to stay on top of asks. Especially with the semester being over for me. Just a fair warning, there'll be spoilers for the game here as well as minor tw's for cursing, abuse, mentions of guns, child abuse, outlaw/criminal life, and general period-typical stuff since the game is set in the time it is. But I'll be sure to tag each post with these types of things, just wanted to let you know beforehand.

Hosea Matthews
Roles: Caregiver, Father Caregiver, Papa Caregiver.
Font & Color: Black/Chat
His relationship with/his feelings on his role: He was a little confused at first, but once he had it explained to him, he happily took on the role of being really anyone's caregiver. I mean, he's already considered the gang's "mother" anyway, so it wasn't anything new for him. Very understanding and just the ultimate dad <3

His relationship with/feelings on his role: He's a little more rough around the edges than Hosea and seems harder to really be young with as he isn't a very soft person in general, but he tries. If Hosea was confused, he sure as hell was gobsmacked. Like, jaw on the floor, eyebrows furrowed, completely clueless. It took him a minute to fully get and he definitely has that rbf/scary man aura, but he instantly melts when one of his kids comes up to him.

Charles Smith
Roles: Flip (Sibling lean more than anything), Big Brother Caregiver, Vent Flip, Outsider Regressor, Trauma Flip
Font & Color: Blue
His relationship with/feelings on his role: He never felt like he was strictly one thing when he discovered age regression. He knew that sometimes he regressed, and other times he just couldn't help but watch over someone while they were in that headspace. He's not entirely a regressor or a caregiver 100% of the time and tends to have more of an older sibling role compared to the others. It's really either or for him. It's a good balance for him where he can take care of the others while also being regressed at the same time, but just not on the same level as a parent.

Javier Escuella
Roles: Flip (regressor lean), Sibling regressor, Vent flip, Kid regressor. Big Brother caregiver. Tough as Nails regressor, Religious Flip
Font & Color: Green
His relationship with/feelings on his role: Doesn't have much of a need for someone to watch over him while he's regressed. He tends to take care of himself and stay on his own, but is the complete opposite when he's not. Adores taking care of anyone smaller than him, whether it's just to mess with them or in an actually serious way. He's similar to Charles in that he has a hard time in leaning to one slightly more specifically, however, it's more likely for him to regress than not he's realized.

John Marston
Roles: Regressor, Trauma regressor, Vent regressor. Tough as Nails regressor. Baby regressor, Little Brother regressor, Clingy regressor.
Font & Color: Red
His relationship with/feelings on his role: Arguably known as, the gang baby. He's strictly a regressor and when he's not, will definitely watch over someone else that is, but he's not really a caregiver or any other type of figure in the traditional sense, if that makes sense? When he is regressed however, he's basically attached to whatever gang member's hip he chose to cling to that day. Most of the time it happens to be Abigail (he's a huge momma's boy though tbf). Overall, he's everyone's little brother and despite it being well, John, they love him for it.
Her relationship with/feelings on her role: She's got Jack sure, but what's another one? She has the biggest soft spot for John and is almost always the one making sure he doesn't either fall into the river, or end up eating dirt. When no one else can, she's the one that wrangles him because let's be honest, he's an absolute maniac sometimes. While she may be John's specifically, she takes on a motherly role for everyone that might be regressed. She's mama. She'll fuss over them if she feels like it, but also, won't say anything if they happen to sneak a little something on occasion. "Hmm what was that? Oh no, I didn't see nothin.' Sorry."

Sadie Adler
Roles: Flip (no lean), Vent Flip, Outsider Regressor, Tough as Nails Regressor, Separation Anxiety Flip, Cowgirl Regressor, [Mother Caregiver.
Font & Color: Purple
Her relationship with/feelings on her role: Mainly regressed around Jake, but since then has never been able to fully. Similar to Abigail, she's a very maternal person and enjoys taking on a very motherly role for someone, especially when they're smaller than her. Even when she regresses, she still tries to, more as a sibling though since that's obviously impacted. It's really a 50/50 split for her. As she can be the strongest, most obvious caregiver for someone, but when she regresses, it hits her much harder as she's not as used to it and can't help but be reminded of what she lost.

His relationship with/feelings on his role: Has very mixed feelings on his regressing and tends to stick to caregiving whenever he has the chance. Given his place in the gang as well, he feels like he just... can't regress, either he's not doing right, or he's afraid to. He has it stuck in his head that since he's the man that he is, he can't regress/ isn't allowed to. He doesn't do that! John does! But. similar to Sadie, when he does it hits him really hard as well. He has trouble really letting himself be taken care of by anyone and hates being in such a vulnerable position, so he puts his walls up the second he starts feeling anything other than what he's used to.
