I love how FFIX was largely produced in Hawaii, and the team working on the game got to enjoy a more relaxed work schedule.

I love all of the party members, but I would absolutely die for Quina, no questions asked. I really liked Amano's interpretation of her, so I used his art of her as a bit of inspiration.
DAY 2: Side Character • Trance • AU
I. Am very Biased. Regardless, Kuja's Trance is very difficult to draw for some reason. Weh.

I mean, I adore every cutscene in FFIX, but Zidane rescuing Dagger from certain death gets me every time. The way she looks into his eyes - the way her face just crumbles - how she hugs him with unabated gratitude, tears welling up in her eyes... So much was left unsaid after this moment, but this scene speaks volumes to the unbreakable bond they've built.

I love the entire cast of FFIX, but my favourite party member always has and always will be our beloved protagonist - Zidane Tribal. I love his happy-go-lucky zest for life; I love how he develops and grows throughout the story, learning to accept other people's help; and of course, I love his unwavering selflessness.
One of my favourite lines of his is 'To hell with looks. It's what's inside that counts.' At the time of my first playthrough as a pre-teen who didn’t feel beautiful, this line meant everything to me.
