In my last post I shared my empty notebook collection. Now here I present my finished journals aka the story of my (conscious) life, literally.
Every. Single. Time. I know why it happens, but it's still funny that the relief is visible when I have a meeting with social services or something, and I mention I like videogames. It's a good sign for mental health to have hobbies, I know that, especially when it's not my only interest, but after a lifetime of hearing negative comments about videogames from adults, it's hilarious that NOW it's a relieving information.
it must be wild having enough oxytocin in your blood levels au naturel (comparing to the much lower rate in most autistic people) to actually feel compelled to defend your lame ass family. this is one of those things I always wonder about genuinely whenever someone comes from an LDS/mormon background or something equally hitlerish and still expresses some amount of gratitude or loyalty to that aspect of their upbringing regardless of their current day political beliefs or secular status: is it a genuine difference in brain chemistry and parental/familial attachment? does the average person actually get warm fuzzies hugging someone they're related to by blood? it feels like one of the biggest roadblocks between me and other people on average. people go "well they're your family" and all I can think is Well so what who gives a shit. there are of course the extenuating circumstances (most people would not describe their childhood as "being held hostage humbert humbert style") but my specific attitude of defiant behavior towards family-like institutions seems much more physical and older than any trauma that may have solidified those suspicions. of course this is one of those things that is next to impossible to collect any real data on aside from googling "do people really love their parents"
