Hello community! As you know, reveals will be up on January 8th but for the time being, can we interest you in some Erised stats for our 2017 Round? :D This year we had 56 total submissions created for @hd-erised:17 art and 39 fics. Let us break it down for you! :) Fanart Stats: We had 17 gorgeous pieces of art created for this year, including 3 animations and one non-traditional art made of thousands of colourful beads! This led to a grand total of 86 panels with our longest art having 24 panels. Amazing! \o/ Fanart Rating Breakdown: 5 G 2 PG 3 PG-13 4 R 3 NC-17 Fun fact, this the year has been our ~smuttiest~ fanart year ever! NICE. ;) Let's hear a loud applause to our brilliant artists who gave us such a gorgeous round of art! Fanfic Stats: This is where things get a little crazy. ;) This year we had 39 stories created for H/D Erised, making a word count total of (GET THIS): 1,501,300 words That's over one and a half million words of Harry/Draco lovin' written for hd_erised RIGHT THERE. You people are mad! This is actually the longest year of Erised yet, especially impressive when you consider that the writer cap for the fest used to be higher. <3 Our shortest fic was ~3,700 and our longest fic was ~165,000 words – the longest ever fic written for an Erised Fest. As our total word count shows, this was a very wordy round with over half of our stories being over 20K. INSANE. :D From those 39 stories, you (smut-loving people) wrote & read: 2 G 1 PG 6 PG-13 5 R 25 NC-17 Yeah, you guys know what we like all right! \o/ In these 39 stories Harry and Draco got up to all sorts of things to boost up the rating, using their hands and mouths and tongues with very satisfactory results! Not to mention a lot of rubbing, too! ;) When it came to bottoming, Draco is the indisputable ~winner. His lovely behind welcomed Harry's erm, devotion, a total of 10 times! While Harry bottomed only half of that, 5 times - the biggest disparity in topping/bottoming we've seen in Erised yet. They were a bit versatile though! They also switched 7 times. Yeah, Harry and Draco had a lot of fun this round. :D When it came to professions Harry and Draco did a bit of everything, though Harry's profession of choice is still Auror with 15 stories, followed by 5 stories where he was a Professor. Sweet! But though those were his most popular professions, he really did a bit of everything! He was in turns a Healer, a Quidditch Player, A Charms Inventor, an Unspeakable, a Shopkeeper, a Wand Repairer and even a Dragon Tamer – hehehe, we totally see that happening – among other things. Draco, on the other hand, did even more things than Harry, though. He worked in the Potions field 4 times (either as a Professor or Master or Researcher), and he also did amazing and crazy things: he was an Auror, an Unspeakable, a Curse Breaker, a Spy, a Healer, a Muggle Tour Guide, a Rentboy, a Farmer and even a House-elf clothing designer among other things. Yeah, Draco is very adaptable, clearly! The preferred Era was, once again, and without question, Post Hogwarts EWE with 36 fics. We had only 2 8th Year fics – though our longest fic was 8th year – 1 Epilogue Compliant and 2 partial Epilogue Compliant, though there were a couple that walked the line between EWE and Partial Epilogue Compliance. It's worth mentioning that this year we had Hogwarts Canon Divergence in one of our EWE stories, so we had a touch of Hogwarts Era AU as well. No Non-Magical AUs this round either – but there's always next round. :D And though not strictly speaking a stat for fic or art, you might be interested to know your Mod Team, up to this post, have sent each other approximately 1,190 emails in preparation for and during the running of this fest. Impressive, right? Yes, it takes a lot of hard work and a lot of talking to co-ordinate the fest! Those are our 2017 Erised Stats. Are you impressed? We know we are! Seriously, over 1.5 Million words, Merlin. . . Please don't forget to vote in our Guessing Poll. Remember it's only a bit of fun, and that writers and artists like knowing your crazy guesses, so don't be shy!
