i don't know what i'm drinking here
Julie went to Seoul and brought me back some tea. she says that the vendor at the tea place she finally found (that sold loose leaf tea) said this was a special Korean tea - a green tea fermented until it became essentially "brown tea" as they called it
i'm doing: 212 degrees F, 4g, 85ml, 10 secs
the wet leaf smelled sweet, like raisins
it tastes like that too. it kind of reminds me of black tea (definitely the color) but it tastes softer, more subtle
I don't know anything about tea in Korea / Korean tea!

Like getting grapefruit rind stuck in the back of your throat— in a good way This is elation. Like those first moments when I pedaled away from my parents. Training wheels discarded. Balanced obtained. Five-year-old-freedom. I’m barely conscious. It’s not my fault. I blame an ornery commitment to scratch cooking. The stuffing recipe alone takes just under three hours. The bread must be torn –…

The Tea Practitioner's Golden Flower Heicha | Tea Review
2021 Raw Liubao | Liquid Proust
Thanks for all the likes and reblogs on my comic post c:
Liubao is a type of Heicha or black fermented tea. I’m completely inexperienced with the subject and I’m pretty sure this might be my first time with heicha…(?) Correct me if I’m wrong, I honestly can’t remember. To my surprise, the brew is very light in color. Almost a green-y yellow, but it’s hard to tell with my cups. Aroma is also surprising — a bit woody and reminds me of a garden shop. Flavor is slightly vegetal with raw cacao and some dryness in the mouth. Much greener than I expected from just looking at the unsteeped leaves. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this tea, but I’d be interested in trying more Liubao in the future.
Haven’t gotten much done this spring break; I started taking ADHD medication and it’s left me feeling sick every day. The symptoms should pass, but I’ve been unproductive as a result. Should hopefully help in the long run.

Just me brewing some Kombucha!
Kombucha Home Brewing
I've been reading up online (kombucha home brew blogs, Reddit kombucha forum, kombucha home brew forums) about the process. I last successfully brewed kombucha when I was at my parents' place last summer, but haven't had a chance since since Life Got Crazyâ„¢.
I've been drinking a lot of kombucha lately for my gut and overall health, but it is pricey and flavor options are limited. I've really wanted to begin brewing it again. So. Hopefully my round 2 of kombucha home brewing is as successful as the first. Different state, water, elevation, temperature, etc. I am excited and nervous!
The Kombucha is coming along well. After Dr Oz threw home growers under the bus I’m not sure anyone will want them now though.
