Tea review: Coming to the Cottage from Tealish
Loose leaf black tea, 1 tsp steeped for 3 minutes with 100° water.
It smelled so smokey when it was steeping I was honestly impressed. I was even more impressed when the smokey taste remained tastefully present without overwhelming the other notes! As always, had a couple sips clear/black to judge it on it's own. It is very bodied, very full. Main character energy with hints of maple. I ended up adding a splash of maple syrup for sweetness, leaning into the hints of it already present in the tea.
Overall a 7/10. I will be drinking it again, perhaps as a tea latte, but it definitely feels like a campfire.
Tea review: Library Blend by Murchie's
Black and green tea mix, bagged, steeped for 3 minutes with 100° water.
The jasmine came through strongly, definitely more on the floral side. Didn't love it black/clear, added a dribble of honey and a splash of milk to my tastes. Vibes slightly too much like drinking the plants that make me sneeze, imo (curse you seasonal allergies).
6/10, will drink again but not putting it in my rotation. A nice sip for enjoying the spring sunshine with a book.
Tea review: CBC radio blend from Murchie's
Black and green tea mix, bagged, steeped for 3 minutes with 100° water.
A very light blend, definitely fragrant and a bit floral but not overly so. Gave it a couple of sips black & clear to judge it. It wasn't acidic or biting, the green helping to mellow out the black tea, so I didn't add any sugar. I did put in a splash of milk though, mostly for my teeth.
8/10, would drink again.

Dozy Girl (Bird & Blend)
Type: Chamomile + Loose Leaf
Brewing Time: 6 minutes.
Milk/Sugar/Honey: No.
My thoughts:
Just opening it made my hayfever screech...the whole thing is flowers. Unsurprisingly, it's a floral tea. It's also on the sweeter side. I'm not a lover. I could have brewed it for less time, but I wouldn't say it would have changed much. The flavour wasn't overpowering. The smell once I removed the tea leaves...was. The tea itself wasn't that strong scent-wise, but the smell from the tea leaves made me feel like I forgot to take my hayfever medicine.
However...when it comes to sleep teas, I judge them slightly differently. I'm not drinking them for the taste, but rather for a little help falling asleep. This one does that job just fine, actually. It's probably mostly placebo, but after I drank it, I did start to feel tired. And hey, even if it is placebo, if it does the job I want it to do, and it's not awful to drink, then it's fine.
Also, "Dozy Girl"? That wasn't a doze, I was out like a light. That was probably the best sleep I've had in a while.
Rating:
4/5. puts me to sleep and kept me asleep. Would probably be a 5/5 if I liked sweet teas.
