Just the other day, a woman was stabbed to death at her university in Egypt after she and her family refused a mariage proposal from another student. No one tried to stop him. People filmed it. And now Arabic Twitter and Facebook are full of people making excuses for the man and blaming the woman.... Sorry I just needed somewhere to say this.
Part 2 "Sorry for not mentioning her name. I wasn't sure of the English spelling, but it's Nayra Ashraf نيرة أشرف her name meaning radiant in arabic."

This is truly horrible, I had not heard of this. I searched for more info so I can use this as an opportunity for others to read about how this man murdered her, so here's a short article
The public prosecution ordered the four-day detention of a Mansoura University student after he slaughtered his female colleague on Monday f
Also from an article from the day before "A video of the incident has been widely circulated on social media, showing what appears to be a man cutting a woman’s throat on a busy street before he is attacked and restrained by bystanders." ... He slit her throat for not accepting his marriage proposal, a life taken away for nothing, a man murdering a woman yet again. She had a great life in front of her and he took that away so brutally, that's the cold reality of male violence.
It disturbs me so much that there's footage of that horror circulating around and being commented on as if it wasn't an actual person who was murdered there and as if she didn't deserve respect in death. But also since there was apparently 13 witnesses needed to prove this man was responsible (wtf), in addition to the existence of the footage, I hope he won't get away with it, there's no excuse for justice to serves its purpose. Justice for Nayra Ashraf.
