I realize it wouldn't happen, but just for fun, what if someone tried to kill the mastermind (presumably not knowing it's them)? Would they try to stop it somehow? Of course, the only way to do that effectively is to kill the attempted murderer...
Well, this is going to be extrapolating a bit but heyā¦ why not.
1 - The mastermind would be faced with two choices initially, and from what weāve seen, they always take one choice over the other. That is, do you participate in the hunger games yourself or do you remain outside as a spectator? Since most MM!ās are by themselves, they need someone to run the game, and so they remain the spectator, so they can see the fruits of their despair filled efforts. If for some reason/through some way they were able to participate in their games from the inside and still have things run smoothly, why not, risk facing the despair of never seeing the conclusion to the despair games here, maybe thatās what the MM! is for.
2 - All said and done in your scenario it boils down to what your MM! is like. Would they really want the despair of not seeing their grand finale/despair coming to fruition versus seeing it themselves? Sure, then theyād allow themselves to die. Would they want to have a more dignified/despair inducing death than just, say, getting clonked over the head, and have the ability to trick the others into voting wrong? Then theyād retaliate and kill their attacked. If they didnāt want to die either way yet participated in the games, they would presumably just Monokuma-kill them and then walk away from it, leaving Monokuma to explain that they attacked him and so they died.
So, all said and done, a lot of variables depend on who your mastermind is/what your mastermind is like. Iāve seen several DR RP blogs where the MM! is within the group of kids and they subject themselves to possible death/murder like everyone else, as they have an accomplice to watch over things, so yeah, it all boils down to how you see it. Solo MM! forces you to have them stay back though or Monokuma would just break down and nothing would happen.Ā
Thereās a lot of variables there and what ifās but hopefully that answers your question/gives you whatever youāre looking forā¦?

It was so painful to read this because I could just hear that kidās voice exactly even though I havenāt watched the polar express in like years. Great, now thatās all Iām going to be able to hear the Anonsā asks as for the next few days because this voice got stuck in my head again.
