@fearoftheminotaur It’s on my (very long) list of shows to watch!  I didn’t realize it was a 22-minute show until I got corrected after the last ask I answered about it.  I’ve seen tidbits of it and I know a big spoiler or two, but I hear such good things that I really want to see it.  I’ve got so much to work through before I do, though; currently I’m watching some Resident Evil let’s plays, and then I plan to get back to Critical Role, where I’m still less than ninety episodes into the first campaign.  I have a LOT of stuff to watch on my own time.  Very little free time with which to do so, too, now that I’m streaming a lot.

  HOT TAKE

The whole point of releasing the game now is that now is when Nintendo wants to start selling toys and merch of all the new Pokemon. You can create a great game with existing Pokemon, as the remakes and thirds show, but I think it’s be hard to convince the whole empire that it can stop releasing monsters without seeing a drop in revenue.

1. Nintendo isn’t the Pokemon Company. Nintendo owns only 1/3d stake in Pokemon Company, other two owners being Game Freak and Creatures Inc (formerly known as Ape Inc, developers of Mother series and some Pokemon spinoff games).

2. The most marketable Pokemon of all time is Pikachu, introduced in Gen 1. Close seconds are probably Eevee, Charizard and Mewtwo, all Gen 1 Pokemon. Every new generation there is typically maybe one or two Pokemon people care about - Mimikyu, Arceus or Sylveon - and all others are just ‘filler’.

People don’t buy merchandise for every new Pokemon, and we’re LONG past point where collecting every Pokemon -whether in games, cards or merch - is a viable pasttime - it was possible in Gen 1, maybe Gen 2 and 3, but now trying to collect every Pokemon is insane, which goes counter to the very idea of the franchise - “gotta catch em all!”.

Keijo is a Japanese children’s game, so I’d bump it up for the fact the entire premise is a cultural in joke.

Honestly, it did bother me when I first started running this blog. The sudden influx of hate was too much for me to handle. At this point, though, it’s just par for the course. For myself, anyways.

I saw 3000 notes on a post making fun of a bi trans a-spec person the other day. I'm worried for them.

I must confess my first thought was “is the post about me?” Since, you know, that kind of describes me, too. But yeah, I hope they’re ok.

What I’ve noticed, when I post something in a discourse tag and the aphobes get ahold of it, is that it gets to 200-300 notes pretty fast, as all the aphobes reblog it, and then it mostly dies. Some of the reblogs are ususally me responding, and some are my friends, but it’s always around 150-200 aphobe rebloggers--and from there, if it were a generally agreed-with thing, what they were saying, or something relatable, you would expect it to spread pretty much infinitely, having gotten so many initial reblogs, but then it doesn’t. It dies down to a trickle. This indicates that aphobes are a closed group, and that hardcore REG ideology does not go over well beyond that group. Indeed, many of the aphobes are dedicated sideblogs, which indicates that if they posted much discourse on their main blogs, most of them would lose followers there. They’re just a bunch of loud people in an echo chamber, a small one.
