I don't see ppl pointing this out much but the yearly weather cycle in the world of 3Houses is based more on that of Japan than the typical four seasons in the West. So I will list them out here cuz I love the worldbuilding of 3H :3 This will be based on the narration for each month.
âłđđđŽđĄď¸
An interesting thing I want to note is that the numbers used to help us identify which Imperial Moon correlates to which Gregorian Month (like Great Tree Moon - 4 -> Apr or Ethereal Moon - 12 -> Dec) were, in-universe, actually from an old FĂłdlani calendar that predates the Imperial calendar :> You can think of it like how many countries still use both the Gregorian calendar and a lunar calendar.
The way the Imperial calendar was imposed in FĂłdlan is pretty much a direct reference to our modern calendar.
But I digress... This is supposed to be about the Seasons of FĂłdlanđđšđ¨ď¸đ
đą Spring starts in Great Tree Moon (Apr). It is also the start of a new Imperial year, with the Adrestian Empire Founding Day being on the 1st.
"The icy winds of the Oghma Mountains have begun to scatter, and the verdant fields once again spring to life across FĂłdlan, heralding the start of a new year. As they celebrate the dawning year, the people pray that they may realize their full potential, just as a tiny sprout hopes to one day grow into a great tree."
đ§ď¸ Summer, aka the rainy season, starts in Garland Moon (Jun).
"When the warm winds blow from the from the sea to the south of Adrestia, residents of FĂłdlan know that the rainy season is upon them. Before the heavy rains take their toll, the young women hurry to pick the last of the white roses. The ivory buds are woven into garlands and given as gifts to close friends or potential lovers."
đž Fall starts in Horsebow Moon (Sep).
"As cold air begins to creep in from the north of Faerghus, FĂłdlan welcomes the riches of fall. The women spend their days reaping the golden fields, gratefully embracing the bounty the goddess has once again provided. The men venture into the wild with horsebows and empty sacks ready to be filled with game."
âď¸ Winter starts in Red Wolf Moon (Nov).
"Hoarfrost now graces treetops and open fields alike, and an icy chill blown in from the north of Faerghus blankets the land. All of FĂłdlan's creatures begin to settle in for a long winter. The setting sun bathes the full winter coat of every wolf in a foreboding scarlet glow. Hunters can now spread the word that the red wolves are back on the prowl."
Jeralt wasn't kidding when he said winter would be long, huh...
đ One particular detail the narrations deemed important to point out is the appearance of the Blue Sea Star, aka the Goddess' Home, aka the star Sirius, which is behind two very important names in this game, "Sothis" and "Seiros".
The Blue Sea Star can be seen in FĂłdlan's sky from Blue Sea Moon (Jul) till Red Wolf Moon (Nov). This somewhat matches our Sirius being a winter star in the Northern Hemisphere.
Ethereal Moon: "... the Blue Sea Star has gone back into hiding..."
đŹď¸ Another piece of info given be the narrations is that the weather system in FĂłdlan is maintained by warm, humid wind from the South in Summer and cold wind from the North in Winter.
Garlands: "When the warm winds blow from the from the sea to the south of Adrestia, residents of FĂłdlan know that the rainy season is upon them..."
Horsebow: "... cold air begins to creep in from the north of Faerghus..."
Red Wolf: "... an icy chill blown in from the north of Faerghus blankets the land..."
The Winds of Winter (heh) seem to be quite strong over this continent, to the point where even Southern Adrestia & the sea beyond are chilled. Their effect can be felt for 7 months of the year, with 5 months suffering from frosts & active snowfall.
I'd like to hazard a guess that FĂłdlan suffers from the same phenomenon that happens to Japan. The dry, cold air from Siberia picks up moisture when it crosses the Sea of Japan, dumping a fk ton of snow onto Northern Japan (this country has 3 of the snowiest cities in the world!).
Similarly, the North of FĂłdlan where the winter winds blow from is also surrounded by a sea.
Winter in Faerghus must be such a struggle... Although the land there is actually blessed with minerals and oils :))) so maybe what they need to turn their fortune around is a few industrial revolutions :)))))))))
But no I need to stop there. I think too hard and now I'm imagining capitalism in my favorite medieval fantasy. Nope nope nope đââď¸
đđď¸ Edit: some other fun details I neglected to mention
1) Wyvern is a migratory species which flies to the South in, you guessed it, Wyvern Moon (Oct). Did that have any impact on FĂłdlani taming them? Does Almyran wyverns migrate? Or is the climate there much warmer and they belong to a different species from FĂłdlani wyverns?
2) The main grain of FĂłdlan grows in ~4 months. Seeds are sown in Harpstring Moon (May), and the harvest is in Horsebow Moon (Sep). That seems to be the average for spring wheat? And, well, the rest of their year is winter :)))
Seriously, winter in FĂłdlan is way too long đŤ
Bonus edit cuz I keep finding weather related info đŤŠ
In chapter 5 Verdant Rain Moon (Aug), Annette tells you to prepare a coat bc Faerghus is chilly even at that time of the year (end of FĂłdlan summer), and it rains a lot. The Tailtean Plains map, which is in Blaiddyd territory, is also raining
Yk, Faerghus being a perpetually cold & humid hellscape is the kinda condition I imagine Northwestern Europe (the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark) suffer from :Ä No wonder the Faerghan are depressed
I hope you have as much fun reading this as I had while reading the texts to compile these info (â  â âšâ â˝â âšâ  â )

Lysithea is often hailed as an âhonorary Black Eagleâ due to the parallels in hers and Edelgardâs backstory. While there are no doubt many similarities there, Iâve been wondering recently if Lysithea and Edelgardâs relationship may be overshadowing some parallels between her and other Black Eagles, particularly Petra.
There are three components of these characters that I want to focus on in this discussion: age, death, and loyalty. I believe by focusing on these components we can see ways these characters parallel each other, but also ways that their paths diverge.
Age
Anyone who knows anything about Lysithea knows her age is a major point of contention. As the youngest student at Garreg Mach, she often feels that other students are talking down to her. But what if there was another character that wasnât that much older than her? Enter Petra.
Both Petra and Lysithea join the academy at 15 years old. While Petraâs birthday is a few months earlier than Lysitheaâs, this age gap is one that would be insignificant in real world schools. Yet these characters are viewed very differently in Garreg Mach. I believe there are two main components as to why this is, one: how they present themselves, and two: racism.
Even just looking at their character designs, many people unfamiliar with the game probably would assume Lysithea is younger. Sheâs much shorter and in general looks more child like than Petra and appearances really matter in situations like this. Even beyond appearances though, Petra is much more mature that Lysithea. Letâs start by looking at their likes and dislikes:
A lot of Lysitheaâs interests are things associated with children (liking sweets and cute things while disliking bitter foods and being afraid of ghosts). On the other hand, if you look at Petraâs interests, nothing about them scream child. In fact, her dislike for discrimination speaks to a maturity on her part as she is taking note of the unfairness in the world as opposed to focusing solely on herself. Furthermore, Lysithea is very petulant and prone to emotional outbursts (some could call them temper tantrums) particularly pre time skip. In contrast, Petra has always been a fairly composed person. Even in difficult situations like realizing one of her class mates is the son of the man who killed her father, Petra manages to stay fairly calm.
While we do see in their A support that her feelings are more complicated than Petra is initially letting on, this still speaks to a great deal of maturity as Petra is trying to let go of her personal grudges and see Caspar as an individual not an extension of his father.
2. Petra has dealt with a great deal of racism from the empire, something Lysithea as a native Leicesterian girl does not have to deal with in the Alliance. She was taken as a hostage at only 10 years old and even comments in her Hubert C support that she was treated like a âstrange beast.â What we hear from her mirrors the treatment of Dedue in a way (although we donât get as many details on Petraâs treatment) as we see NPCs who are grown adults act as if he is some terrifying monster and not just a teenage boy. From these two details, it becomes clear that those in Fodlan have a tendency to adultify foreigners, forcing them to grow up and mature faster than their Fodlan counterparts.
Death
Both Lysithea and Petra have lost family members and both of them lost them at the hands of the Empire. Petra lost her father in the war at 10 years old while Lysithea lost all her siblings in an experiment while very young. We see how these experiences have a profound impact on both these women, as they feel the need to step up and shoulder great responsibilities even when children. Furthermore, they both grow to focus their energy on those who survived their tragedies not those who died, with Petra wanting to help improve the quality of life for those in Brigid and Lysithea wanting to help her parents. Neither of them give much focus to avenging the dead.
This leads on to my third point.
Loyalty
Petra shows great loyalty to her people while Lysithea shows great loyalty to her parents. For both of them, this loyalty is motivated by knowing they are the only hope. Petra is the next Queen of Brigid, she knows she is in a unique position where she could free them from oppression and lead them to prosperity, meaning she needs to be very careful about how she approaches these matters. She needs to make cautious and calculated decisions when it comes to foreign affairs and canât risk doing anything brash, she knows she is playing the long game.
Lysithea, similarly, knows she is the only person left to take care of her parents after the death of her siblings. This is what motivates her to work so hard as she wants to ensure her parents can live the rest of their lives in peace. However, in contrast to Petra, Lysithea knows she is on a time limit. She has to accomplish all these things at a very young age otherwise she will never accomplish them. While for Petra, aging is an opportunity to help her people in new ways, for Lysithea aging is what takes away her opportunities.
Fashion in FĂłdlan: a very long, non-comprehensive, and entirely unsolicited analysis
The fe3h writers did a pretty solid job of creating three nations with clear social, economic, and political differences. The fashion stands out to me as doing exceptionally well at expressing those differences, and, just like in the real world, it works as a sort of socioeconomic barometer that helps tell FĂłdlan's story.
In this post, I'll break down the key clothing trends in the three regions and provide some light interpretations, largely related to $$
Please note that I'm NOT using this post to discuss historical inspirations. Also, not everyone from every region is included. In particular, anyone whose outfit is too much of just a riff on a class uniform (like the Ashen Wolves or the various minsters in the empire) is left out.
There's a part 2 now lol (church of seiros time); part 3 as well!
1. Holy Kingdom of Faerghus: function IS fashion, baby!!
Fearghus, beloved land of ice and snow and spooky folktales about watering your fields with blood and ghosts living under the ground - you did not come to fuck around. You're here to protect the commoners and go back home to a stew that may, if you're lucky, actually have some meat in it. In this kingdom, you're going to dress warm and you're going to like it. Oh, you have some extra money? Gonna spend it on something for yourself? Better be using it for something useful, like keeping your plate armor in good condition. (Please note: Catherine, though being Faeghan, is excluded because she wears the uniform of the Knights of Seiros, not her own clothes.)
Trends:
High collars, long skirts - generally as little exposed skin as possible. (There is exactly one pair of bare hands in the entire kingdom. Mercie is getting a little bold đ)
Fur cloaks/capes/gloves, or just fur around the cuffs and collars if they don't have a full fur cloak.
Armor - every single man is dressed in armor, as is Ingrid. Most of the men have full suits of plate armor, but Felix, Rodrigue, and Ashe are wearing only gambesons (note the quilting in Felix's sleeve - that's what gives it away, imo). The folks in plate armor would have gambesons on as well (you can see Ingrid's underneath her breastplate), acting as padding for the plate armor. I think Gilbert is wearing plate armor with a tunic over it (a realistic historical practice).
Fastening is accomplished with clasps and lacing, and there are relatively few buttons or adornments to be seen on the main garments - Annette is an exception, which will be addressed later.
Brief analysis:
Notice the economical use of fabric - their clothing tends to lie flat, with fabric being layered for warmth rather than pleated, gathered, or puffed. The folks in plate armor may spice it up a little with a sash of some kind if they aren't already wearing a cloak or cape. I'm assuming Gilbert's ~stylish tunic~ is keeping him warm well enough to not need a cloak or larger scarf. (Mercedes has a ruffles and puffier sleeves, plus a fuller skirt, but it's worth noting that she is currently part of a merchant house, and merchants tend to be wealthier and actually occupy a unique social class between nobles and commoners.)
Note the colors, too. Greens, browns, and yellows are the cheapest and easiest dyes to make and use. That bright sort of tawny color that Gilbert, Annette, and Jeralt all have is easy and cheap. Gilbert's grey tunic could feasibly just be undyed wool. A true blue is difficult, but you'll note that the only true blue is on Dimitri. The rest wear the greyish greenish blue of woad, which is just as cheap and easy as the others.
All of this reinforces the idea that Faerghus is not a rich nation, and the nobility don't live too far off from the common folk. The vast majority of the cost we see is actually their armor (worn by Dimitri, Dedue, Sylvain, Gilbert, Jeralt, Matthias, Ingrid, and also if we're getting all the way into it, Gwendal, Miklan, Lonato, and Baron Dominic as well), which would have been pretty expensive. You'll notice they mostly wear grey armor with very little extra decoration, keeping the costs low. Ingrid, the poorest of the nobles in armor, also has the least actual plate. Felix and Rodrigue both have full cloaks, which most other people don't have (just Dimitri), but they also aren't wearing plate, so clearly that's a calculated choice.
That being said, even within these more economical fashions, we can still see clear differences between classes. Most noticeably, Felix (rich) and Ashe (not rich) have very similar outfits, but Felix's tunic/gambeson is lined with fur, while Ashe's is not.
BTW I'm of the opinion that the Fraldariuses are the richest people in the kingdom other than the royal family, and I believe that specifically of their fancy cloaks lol
so luxurious~
2. Adrestian Empire: look at my money bitch
Ah, the land of beauty and excess! I love to live in the capital and visit the cultural icon that is the opera and pretend that I'm not in Wealth Inequality Central. (Please note: Petra is not included, since she dresses according to Brigid's fashions. Also note: I fuck w these styles so hard, dude.)
Trends:
Short skirts (above the knee - Dorothea has a draped over-skirt thing, but her main skirt is shorter, and Manuela has leg slits instead of a short hem), low or square necklines, open backs. In general, we're looking at a lot of exposed skin. Forgot to include Cornelia in the pics, but she has this too.
Tailored jackets with just SO many buttons. Hanneman fits into the tailored jacket category, but isn't included in the highlights by virtue of Not Enough Buttons. (Some concept art is included here to drive the point home.)
Finally, there's this specific very specific double-breasted neckline thing (baby edelgard is separate bc i forgot to include her when i made the first image shhhh)
Brief analysis:
Adrestian fashion is all about displaying status and wealth, in this case through ornamentation, rich colors, uniforms denoting class/role, and also a fair amount of excess fabric.
Historically, fabric itself was one of the major indicators of wealth - in fact, certain historical styles very explicitly showed off just who was rich enough to afford, for example, a whole gown made from the same length of fabric, or even just an entire skirt panel with no piecing. In the Adrestian Empire, We've got excess fabric galore, tucked away into all those beautiful ruffles and bell sleeves, layered skirts, capes, double collars, and puffy pants - and it's all in much more luxurious colors, too. In fact, I'm pretty sure the largest single piece of fabric on anyone in the game is Edelgard's cape, which is then also adorned with dozens of buttons and extra bits of fabric. It's almost definitely fully silk, both the outer layer and the lining. (And it's badass.)
Look at all that fluff! Dimitri's cloak rivals hers in the size of the actual fabric itself, but his is likely a heavy wool, plus has a lot of fur.
"Oh, but pg, there are capes in Faerghus, too!" yes, but in Faerghus, they live in the arctic /hj. Note the vast expanses of exposed skin down here in the empire - clearly, cold is not an issue. You'll also note that the cloaks in Faerghus were heavy and lined with fur; that's not the case here. Given the prevalence of tailored jackets and the dual colors on Ferdinand's cape, I'm guessing they're either a comparatively lightweight wool with a silk lining (typical for tailored suit jackets, nothing particularly noteworthy about that), or just fully silk. (Bernie's shawl is just cotton though, prove me wrong...) Hanneman and Manuela are exceptions, since they both have fur, but they live at Garreg Mach, not in Enbarr.
The jackets themselves, by the way, could be silk OR wool. Ferdinand's in particular (especially thropes) reminds me of early 18th c. waistcoats, which would have been full silk.
We also have much richer colors down here in the land of art and song. Red, purple, and black were all very difficult colors to maintain, and very expensive. The most expensive colors, in fact. Not gonna lie, as far as price per yardage goes, I think Hubert's outfit might rival Edelgardâs in expense.
A notable exception to the excess fabric bit is Bernadetta. However, her dress is in what is arguably the most expensive color, and is heavily decorated, so that's a reasonable trade-off, and I don't blame her. I, too, would go for a smaller amount of pretty purple silk embroidered with bright, beautiful gold and yellow instead of a bigger, more impressive-looking option. It's about the little things.
I do want to take look at Caspar, in particular. He's unique in that he's dressed in a full suit of armor. But, given that he's the second son and not set to inherit anything, unlike all his waistcoat-wearing friends, he isn't being held to some particular uniform, and even if he were, it's the ministry of military affairs. Of course they wear real armor. What's interesting is that his armor is a sort of rosy grey/brass, rather than silver, and he has a lot more decoration and flair than the folks with full armor in Faerghus, in both his throuses and thropes outfits.
Worth noting, btw, that we have exactly zero examples of actual commoners in Adrestia, other than generic NPCs. Dorothea belongs to that peculiar niche that is opera and acting, so she is expected to dress and act like a noble, despite not having a title or property of any sort.
Adrestia - and Enbarr in particular - leads the slow march of fashion across FĂłdlan, given that it's a cultural hub and is so much wealthier, while Fearghus slowly picks things up over time. Thus, we have Annette, who lives closer to the empire and has disposable income, having some decorative buttons and tassels and a mock low neckline.
It's not nearly as much as the actual Adrestians, but she's picking it up!
3. Leicester Alliance: the beeeest of both worlds~
Oh, Alliance, you messy bitch. What we see here is a mix of everything, where some of them are influenced by Faerghus, and others by Adrestia (just like how some of them have kingdom-style names and some have empire-style names), and a few fit neither camp. There are clear reasons for similarities where they exist, though, so let's take a look! (Please note: Claude is not included, since his clothes are heavily influenced by Almyra.)
Hilda and Lysithea have the frills, puffy sleeves/skirt, short hems, low/square necklines, and expensive colors of the empire (plus, Lysithea gets a decorative veil in dark purple. How ~fancy~). This reinforces the idea that Adrestia sets the standards for fashion: Hilda cares about fashion and keeps up with the times. Lysithea lives on the border and was briefly under the control of the empire, and thus is influenced by it. Mostly, though, I think it's about how she tries to seem older and tends to see Hilda as a model of maturity (lol), so she's following that example.
Holst's armor is quite decorative, similar to Caspar's, but what stands out to me is the fringe in particular. We see the exact same fringe on Caspar, Hubert, and Edelgard, but not anywhere else.
Lorenz and Erwin are a bit of a border case, tbh! They both wear practical, full plate armor with little in the way of extra decor (other than Lorenz's rose and Erwin's little cape thing), but Jesus christ how much does it cost to keep it all so purple like that??? That's a blatant display of wealth that would impress any empire noble.
Marianne, on the other hand, would fit right in in Faerghus, with the old fashioned long skirt, high collar, capelet, and lack of extra decoration other than some pretty trim. Makes sense, since her territory is so close to the kingdom and she's clearly not interested in trying to stay fashionable.
Judith is dressed very practically, has some fun puffy sleeves and bright but inexpensive colors, has a short cape and gambeson (a short vest one, though). I want to say leans toward Faerghus, which makes sense since it's on the border and the house did at one point split off, with part going back to the kingdom.
Now we get to the only real, honest-to-god, never-owned-land-or-property, born-as-and-remain-now peasants/commoners: Leonie and Cyril. (Raphael was born into the merchant class and was able to support himself and Maya by selling his estate, so while we can consider him a real commoner at this point, it's not nearly to the same degree.)
Their economic status is obvious from their outfits: both have very practical clothes with no extra decoration, in cheap and easily accessible colors. Leonie's cloak wrapped around her waist is purely functional - she can use it when the weather calls for it, but it's out of the way of her arrows when she doesn't need it - and looks to be pretty soft, so likely is lightweight. She has a hint of some light protective wear (note the quilted sleeve) and the same front clasps as Felix and Ashe, so i think she's also meant to be wearing a gambeson, but it's shorter and less protective. Cyril doesn't seem to have any armor at all except for the shoulder protection - we can tell from the lack of center-front closures on his shirt and the shape of the cuffs of the sleeves that he's actually just wearing a tunic (or rather, two tunics on top of each other).
Raphael also has a very practical outfit, but notice that his is so much more protective, probably because he has a little more money than the other two. He has very limited, sparsely placed plate armor, but he is covered head-to-toe in quilted cloth armor. He's ready to get some punching done, baby!
Our real outlier, however, is Ignatz... But you bet your bottom dollar I've got an explanation for that one, too!!!!! Mans is an artist and he has rich(?) merchant parents, he can do whatever he wants.
Absurdly unnecessary lengths of (probably not very expensive) cloth? Sure. Fancy feathers that literally no one else gets? Why not! A billion buttons, half of which arent even keeping anything closed? Curly and intricate cloak fasteners probably made of some kind of cording? Sashes and tassels and a decorative sword??? Fuck it, we ball. I love this so much, it's easily my favorite outfit in the entire game and I would ABSOLUTELY wear it irl. I already have the right haircut and glasses and boots, I'm ready
4. In conclusion
These designs really are FĂłdlan in a nutshell. From the quiet wealth and functionality in Felix's fur-lined gambeson to the audacious luxury of Ferdinand's waistcoat to the unrepentant anarchism of Ignatz's entire vibe, we can see the history - and future - of the continent outlined right before our eyes:
Faerghus is cold, practical, and probably has the most even distribution of wealth (since none of them have it lol). Leicester is a mix of remnants of the empire and kingdom, with clear wealth disparity but also may have a relatively high amount of social mobility. Adrestia has a lot of wealth concentrated in the nobility, and it distinguishes between classes/roles with a dress code.
Side note I know I said I wouldn't go into the historical inspirations, BUT I do think it's interesting that the men's clothing in Adrestia - particularly the tailoring - is similar to much later styles than the men's clothing in Faerghus, and the reverse is true of the women's sleeves and necklines.
Its really interesting to me that fodlan seems to be really technologically behind and just makes up for it with heros relics. juding by the books in the shadow library and the fact that fodlan is hostile or cut off to any neighboring countries they arent really in a place to be sharing any knowlege. Since things like oil and printing presses were mentioned being banned it would be safe to assume they exist somewhere else outside of fodlan. and we don't even know how long ago the church banned banned those things either for all we know by the time the events in the game take place people outside of fodlan could have basic electricity and machines or even full blown modern technology and no one would know
Did you ever think that Crests were random colours?
fe3h // discussion/analysis - game mechanics // no spoilers
So in other news iâm not sure if anyone ever noticed, but you can in fact immediately tell what a crest does by which colour it is when it activates. theyâre all colour-coded for your convenience. Hereâs a list/guide:
BLUE: Increases damage in combat
The most common kind of crest in-game, a crest that is blue when it activates is one that makes a unit hit harder, usually increasing damage by a flat five points, but the exact conditions and activation rates (which i wonât go in to) differ from crest to crest.
Thatâs 10 of the 22 Crests, just under half of the entire bunch.
GREEN: Prevents enemy counterattacks
The equal second-most common, these crests all prevent enemy units from making counterattacks upon activation, but only if the crest-bearerâs attack hits. If the crest activates but the attack misses, nothing happens.
Goneril: Combat Arts
Cichol: Combat Arts
Ernest: Weapon Attacks
Aubin: Weapon Attacks
That makes 14 of the 22 covered so far.
YELLOW: Conserves magic uses
Again equal-second most common, a yellow crest is one that upon activation conserves a single cast of magic when the unit casts a spell. The applicable magic type differs between crests:
Dominic: Attack Magic (Reason/Faith)
Noa: Attack Magic (Reason/Faith)
Lamine: Recovery Magic (Faith)
Timotheos: Recovery Magic (Faith)
And that brings us to 18 of 22.
RED: Heals for 30% of damage dealt
The second-least common crest type, red crests all heal the bearer for roughly 30% of the damage dealt in combat upon activation:
Riegan: Combat Arts
Chevalier: Combat Arts
Flames: any damage dealt
Although a note on the Crest of Flames: While it is primarily a red crest as healing is its primary effect, if the red effect activates, there is actually a chance for Bylethâs attack to, in addition to healing, raise might by 5 and stop enemy counterattacks, meaning that the Crest of Flames is technically a red, blue and green crest.
And if youâve been counting, you might realise that thereâs still one crest left that I havenât talked about.
TEAL: Bearer makes another attack
As the least common and only unique crest type in the game, we have teal crests, or rather, the teal crest. It allows the bearer to make another attack upon activation.
Indech: Weapon Attacks
It fits that the crest with a unique ability is also the one with a unique colour. The Crest of Indech, upon activation, has the user make another weapon attack. Bernadetta already fired her bow twice? If her crest activates after her second shot, she then fires her bow a third time.
Its colour is a blend of blue and green, moreso blue, because in a way it is increasing damage, and prevents counterattacks by, well, having a higher chance of making sure that the enemy canât counterattack because their HP stat is now 0. According to the wiki the Crest of Indech, as if it couldnât be any more unique, also cannot activate if the user is using a brave weapon. Weird since its Sacred Weapon is a brave weapon.
So, there you have it. A list of each crest colour and its corresponding ability, as far as game mechanics are concerned.
Tl;dr this is a niceâŚfeature? I guess? Of 3h? If this somehow helps in someoneâs theory then thatâs fantastic, but this is just a little observation i thought iâd share with you all. I mean i guess this could be a helpful resource if youâre making up crests for like a fic or an oc or something. Or even trying to create a hybrid/new crest. Or something.

Edelgard wasnât wrong, but she wasnât necessarily right either. I agree that the church was corrupt at that time; Rhea was corrupt, and you could argue that Seteth and the knights were as well. But Edelgard went about correcting those wrongdoings in the wrong way. The war was not the right path to take; it may have seemed like the only path to take for her, but it was wrong. With Byleth as the new archbishop, while not everything would be fixed, a lot of the churchâs wrongdoings would be solved.Â
Thereâs also a problem with crests. I donât think that starting a war over it was a good idea, as crests only affected the nobility. And, even then, the current generation did not care about the crests in the same way that previous generations did. Therefore, I believe that her second motive, the crests, was also not a reason to start a war.Â
This is my take on the issue, if anyone else has input Iâd love to hear it!
I'm so so fascinated by the way Azure Moon paints us as an underdog, a *weak* broken ragtag group that needs to "rise up" meet the challenge of the fearsome warmonger, the *strong* Emperor at the "Apex of the World". Even the final map is also us ascending into the Throne Room.
And yet, in a way, doesn't that kinda prove her point? That her war would shake up the cycle trapping them & make the weak stronger?
Her biggest mistake is that we became stronger not despite of relying on others, but it was precisely because we relied on others that we became strong, strong enough to defeat her.
And I think she was content to learn that in the final moments of her life. She knew then, FĂłdlan would be reborn better from the ashes of her flames.
Comparison of 3Houses Lords' event dialogues to Byleth in âď¸White Cloudsâď¸ (6/6? for now)
Part 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Rmb to click on the image, some of them can be too long for the display
16/ Commenting on the festivities before the annual ball
As I've said in a previous part about the promise of reunion, Dimitri alone was quite passive & reluctant, but all three of them were quite personal in their comment.
âď¸đâď¸đâď¸đ
Personally looking at the Lords' attitude towards Byleth (and only Byleth) & applying Aristotle's theory of Rhetoric, it can be easily said that Dimitri vastly preferred Pathos (emotions & values, audience-focused). However, the other two modes of persuasion, namely Ethos (credibility & ethics, speaker-focused) & Logos (logic & reasons, content-focused) were used by both Edelgard & Claude to a varying degree.
Edelgard starts with Logos (speaking objectively & distancing herself from the matters), then gradual slides toward Ethos (she's the Emperor there are things she must do).
While Claude starts with Ethos (he's chill & he got wicked schemes unlike the other two), before sliding toward Logos (what did Rhea do, what did the Church do, what's the meaning of this).
To put it simply:
Logos: "The facts are legit"
Ethos: "I am legit"
Pathos: "You are legit"
