I dislike the idea of Branded being just... Beorcs but with a mark physically speaking, I like to think there's some level of difference which further ostracizes them from the Beorc. Made a very long headcanon post about it, however, posting is currently up for debate...

I was bored and I needed something to do today, so I just came up with four new character ideas for Fire Emblem Engage. Since I'm not a story writer (merely an idea writer at best), I may never use these ideas myself. But here they are, in case anyone else wants to use them:
Hermès: Hermès is the royal retainer to Queen Ève of Firene. Born to a family of travelling merchants in lythos (but with family in firene), hermès became a retainer to Queen Ève by virtue of his ties to lythos and his gift with words. Hermès is Evè's counsel, her ear in troubled times. When she needs advice, he's always there. He travels around the country to meet with villagers and to spread the word of the queen when she can't go places herself. He's basically a medieval press secretary, although his old life as a merchant has still left some old habits in him. He accidentally slips back into the life of a travelling salesman when he's out on the road, and it has gotten him into trouble before.
Hermès is the personal tutor of both Alfred and Céline. He teaches Céline the fine art of speech making and good governance. As a man whose life was spent learning all about finance as a merchant, he has a real knack for the financial side of governance. And as someone who's blessed with a notoriously silver tongue, he can also help with governance in other ways. And as for Alfred…well, Hermès teaches Alfred all of this stuff too. But he also inspired Alfred's love of early morning runs. Hermès is a great runner. He won a meeting with Queen Lumera as a kid for his athletic abilities! He's always been renowned for it. When his merchant caravan used to break down, Hermès would simply jog for days to ensure he got to the next town. He would carry his goods on him and just jog. He's alfred's fitness hero.
Hermès could have supports with:
Alear
Clanne
Framme
Alfred
Etie
Céline
Vander
Jean
Anna
Lindon
Saphir
Ramerino
Xanthios: The Fell Xenologue equivalent of Mauvier. He was still born to rich parents in firene, that remains true. But he never moved to Elusia with his mother. Shortly after his father died, mauvier's mom fell into a deep depression. She died all alone in her mansion, depressed and isolated from her peers. Mauvier then wound up on the streets, a young child all alone in this world. If not for his adoption by a wandering caravan, god only knows where he would have ended up.
But indeed, Xanthios was adopted by a wandering caravan of performers. The same kind of troupe which employed Seadall in the main timeline. This group of nomadic free spirits raised Xanthios as one of them, and he learned from them the meaning of life. Life is about more than wealth and obligations. Life is about enjoying yourself. It's about seeing the beauty in every living thing. It's about joy. Life is about joy.
Xanthios, the boisterous Knight. Not a royal knight, but a wandering knight who travelled the lands. Griss and Madeline look up to Xanthios, and he adores them like his children. He left his caravan family to become a knight of the land, a protector of the defenseless and defender of all those who society has shunned. And now he's found a new family, a family in the other three winds.
Xanthios could potentially have supports with:
Alear
Veyle
Mauvier (if we still have regular timeline Mauvier in the game, they'd need to share supports)
Zelestia
Gregory
Madeline
Nel
Rafal
Alfred
Seadall
Timerra or Fogado (or both)
Alcryst
Azorican
Azorican: The Fell Xenologue version of Alcryst. In the world of the Fell Xenologue, Elusia is the country winning the imperialistic wars against Brodia. Brodia is now the defensive nation, and it's growing hungry for violence. It's getting horrible within the nation. I don't know what's going on in Firene and Solm, but I know Brodia is going through a rough patch. In the wars, Elusia killed King Morion, Jade, Amber, Saphir, Citrinne, Lapis and more. So many people died. So many people were killed, and it completely changed the country. Alcryst went from an insecure prince to someone so lost in grief that he became resentful of his brother. And Diamant become so self pitying that he became a useless puppet of alcryst's anger and ambition.
Brodia has been going mad with bloodlust over the losing battles in the war, and so they began taking out their wrath on Firene and Solm. Firene and Solm were bullied mercilessly by both Elusia and Brodia, and it led them both to become equally as bloodthirsty as the other two kingdoms. The whole continent of elyos has gone mad, and now it's unclear how the world will ever get better. It's seeming like nothing can fix the continent now.
I know the twist is that all the people are actually undead corrupted puppets of Rafal, but I want to still keep some of this lore accurate. So how about this: Brodia is the only kingdom not populated fully by corrupted. Diamant and Alcryst are actually still mortal. It's just that Alcryst has become so evil that he's made an alliance with Rafal, little dreaming that rafal plans to betray him and eventually kill him. And then Alcryst is forcing Diamant to go along with all of his schemes.
Alcryst works with Rafal, but the eventual betrayal by Rafal ends in utter rumination for Brodia. Alcryst is backed up against a corner, completely defeated. Rafal striles out at Alcryst, but then! Diamant jumps in front of alcryst, taking the blow meant for his younger brother. As he lays there bleeding out, diamant apologizes for not being able to save citrinne and lapis and all the others during the wars with elusia. And as alcryst loses the last human connection he actually had, the walls come crashing down and he breaks into tears.
Alcryst survives the events of the Fell Xenologue. If Rafal was able to survive, then fell alcryst can too. But when fell alcryst travels to the main world, he's gonna need a new name to differentiate him from the other alcryst. So he chooses the name azorican. As an anagram of zirconia (a synthetic gemstone) I think it works to differentiate him from the regular alcryst.
In terms of supports, I can see azorican having conversations with:
Ramerino: I took this name from the Pan de Ramerino, which is apparently an italian dessert with rosemary. Apparently ramerino is italian for rosemary, which is equally Interesting. And if that name doesn't make it clear where I'm going here, let me spell it out. Ramerino is Queen Seforia of Solm's personal retainer.
An old spymaster from out amongst the desert sands, Ramerino was originally a retainer to Queen Seforia's parents. She's been the spymaster for solm for years and years now. She's like 81 years old, and yet she's still a masterful combatant. Born in a small oasis village, ramerino moved to the big city at a young age and quickly earned a place amongst the solm palace guard. By age 22-23, she was assigned to be a leading spy in elusia. The young prince hyacinth was in need of a retainer, and ramerino was to become that retainer.
Nowadays ramerino knows everything about Elusia, because she has basically become an elusian. She was one of King Hyacinth's retainers, a double agent for the solmic royal family reporting back to them on everything hyacinth ever did. She was close with Lindon back in the day, as he was the retainer to hyacinth's brother whilst she was serving as hyacinth's retainer. She was there when princess ivy was born. But around ten years before the events of the game, ramerino retired from active service as one of hyacinth's retainers. She then got a job at the elusian academy, where she became a capable teacher and instructor in her own right. She was a mentor to many young students, all while still reporting back to solm's royal family.
As soon as King Hyacinth kills King Morion, ramerino pulls out of elusia and flees back to solm. When Hortensia is recruited in the recruited in the battle at solm palace, she accidentally runs into ramerino. And then she realizes her old school teacher was actually a solmic spy this whole time. And considering ramerino is beloved by so many people in elusia, she's clearly a spy of great skills.
The Cornelia Crackships continue, this time with Jeritza. Presumably she finds his aloofness intriguing, also might have something to do with their shared love of critters :3
Thank you for taking the time to send an ask, and sorry for any delay in my answering! I really was like “let me just wait out these bots”, only to stumble back into things right before a very busy academic period… siiiiiiigh. Why am I like this? Lol
9. “What’s your opinion on Azura?”
I would say that I like Azura! When I started playing the game I think I was more attached to her than I am now, but I think we can all agree that she’s kind of put in a weird position in the game. I wouldn’t say I necessarily like her less than I used to because her position is weird, but more so just because other characters surpassed her. Really, she’s interesting, she’s just very underutilized. I think she might’ve stuck in my brain more if she had a better place in the narrative.
Make no mistake, though, I do quite like her! Female characters that seem kind of stoic and cold at first are my bread and butter, so I knew early on that she was going to be a character I liked. Though she’s often there to exposition dump, I love the way our understanding of her as a character sort of unfolds over the course of the three stories. Learning that she truly is a princess of three kingdoms and has pretty much been tossed from every home that’s ever shown her an ounce of love is heart-wrenching, but it also makes it clear why she doesn’t let herself be vulnerable and tends to hold herself back from connecting with others. She’s a child of all three worlds amongst this grand conflict, and holding her tongue is the only thing she can do without risking death. She’s been thrust out of her home and into two places where she’s hated, to the point where just having the solace of a family’s affection in one is just enough to survive — and still she describes the time like she’s on a sinking ship, like she’s the only one who knows the party won’t be going on forever. It makes her such an interesting character to analyze because this is her core on top of all of the bullying she faces, so it’s no wonder she’s so withdrawn.
That being said, even if she is hiding herself away from her world in some way, you can see that there is still some fight in her. She has love for it nonetheless. She loves ghost stories and playing with her little sisters, she loves her nana and fluffy animals, and she’s so forgiving of the people in her life even when they’ve failed her. She can be blunt and she doesn’t like to talk about herself, but she’s very ride or die. Honestly, I genuinely really do like Azura, and in the Fates remake of my dreams, we’d really get to look into her more as a character. I think there’s just so much meat there, and I’d love to delve into her and her relationship to Valla, and how it affects her perception of the world and her personality. Maybe I’ll have to write a fic about her someday!
In conclusion: Azura good.
18. “Favourite VA performance?”
Alright, part two of these! Who are some more that I like? Well, let’s see…
Other performances I really enjoyed were Matt Mercer as… well, it’s hard not to enjoy a Matt Mercer performance, he’s another one of those actors that kind of just always brings his all to something. You can tell he genuinely really enjoys what he does! I think of the three he does, Ryoma is my favourite (and yes there is some bias because I like the character), especially because in Warriors, Ryoma’s voice gets even deeper and richer to help differentiate between him and Chrom and it just sounds really well-suited. Also because that little “errrr… hang out?” line sneaks up on me when I’m supposed to be making a neutral face lol.
Otherwise, I also loved Marisha Ray as Oboro! I think she is very underrated as a voice actress in general, to be honest, and I would love to see her in more projects. Her performance as Oboro is just so playful and silly, but it strikes the right tone of seriousness as well when it needs to. I feel like she perfectly captures Oboro’s youth but also her ferocity, and just makes her a genuinely fun character to invest in. I remember when I first started playing Fates I thought it was a shame we didn’t get to hear her talk more, just because of how satisfying I found it to listen to Marisha Ray’s performance.
Max Mittelman as Leo and Antony Del Rio as Silas are two more favourites from me, as they are another set of hard hitters who just come in there and know what they’re doing and commit to the roles. They both brought a lot of life to the characters they voiced, and made for a pleasing to the ear performance. I wish I could say more, but I can’t figure out how to express it beyond they play their roles really well and just have a great sound!
Last but not least I do want to give a shout out to Brianna Knickerbocker, who seems to have just always been having fun with her roles. She captures Sakura’s shyness and Charlotte’s strength so beautifully, and makes each girl feel unique and entertaining. Again, like Max Mittelman and Antony Del Rio, the words are failing me, but her performances? Those did not! Those were very very good!
26. “Your favourite cool details?”
There’s loads of just tiny things like how all the Hoshidan royal siblings have birthdays in the spring/summer except Takumi, who is born in December, showing just another way that he’s the odd one out. Or how some related characters actually make similar expressions, highlighting their familial relationship to one another. There’s also how it’s relatively easy to get money in the games when you’re playing as Hoshido, but you’re on a tighter budget when you’re playing as Nohr. A lot of the Hoshidan men’s emotional issues can actually be tied to the country’s problem with sexism as well, not just the women’s. Elise’s hair is actually deliberately streaked with purple dye, referencing her desire to be like Camilla.
I often see people referring to Fates as “a cash grab” by only referencing the fact that they disliked it — not even the split-in-three model, just the game’s existence — and when I look at all this stuff and all of the other things that we see in these games… I can’t help but roll my eyes. Detail like this doesn’t really show up in cash grabs.
39. “Do you have any headcanons about Fates?”
If the question is Fates headcanons, the answer is yes, always. I’ll probably just chuck a small chunk of them in a list here, as you are definitely not the only person who has asked me about this one lol. I didn’t realize how beloved my headcanons were until I slowed down on sharing them!
▸ Elise mentions that all Nohrian noblewomen are trained in an instrument, and that she herself is trained on the violin. Corrin, who can be of either gender (or transcend the typical gender binary if you’re not a coward) is also said to be a talented pianist. However, we’re never told what instrument Camilla plays, so it is my belief that she is a very talented flautist. It took a lot of time and discipline to learn how to play, but Garon (pre-goo) loved to listen to her play and would always encourage her.
▸ I know it doesn’t fully make sense, but I love to headcanon “Shiro” as a nickname for “Shinonome”. I mean, Hoshido is called the White Kingdom in Japanese, right? It could be a funny little joke. Anyway, I think it’s fun because Shiro is a sort of casual guy, and also I can’t help picturing an Alvin and the Chipmunks style cry of “SHINONOME!” from across camp any time Shiro messes up badly.
▸ It never came to fruition, but I had a set of headcanons at one point where I knew the Hoshido fam’s first words as babies. Ryoma’s was “dada”, Hinoka’s was “ball”, Sakura’s was “help” (as in “please help me with this, older sibling”), and Takumi was one of those kids who just didn’t talk for ages and then busted out a whole sentence. He probably did it once and then wouldn’t again for another week, so whoever witnessed it would just have no one believe them. He was that kind of kid.
▸ I also just remembered I knew Felicia’s: it was “uh-oh”. Kilma and his wife, Cerisa, used to say it whenever she fell and not make a big deal out of it so she wouldn’t cry. It… mostly worked, although that meant when Flora fell, they’d hear a tiny little “uh-oh!” from Felicia.
▸ Also, speaking of baby Flora and baby Felicia, there was a terrible point during their infancy where if Flora cried about anything, Felicia would start crying, and then there would be two crying babies. And it would be awful. This, however, was not the case with the other set of twins in the cast, Saizo and Kaze — if Kaze cried about something, Saizo had a habit of just looking at him with some serious judgement.
▸ I have names for several of the Fates moms that you would maybe only know if you were a regular reader of my fics, and I don’t necessarily expect anyone to be, so I’ll just share the names here. Camilla’s mom was called Hortensia, who I named prior to the announcement of Engage. Regrettably, the reason I chose this name was because I imagined she was very beautiful and had the attention of many men, so the other concubines habitually called her “Whore-tensia”… Leo’s mom was a woman called Maren, and Elise’s was called Odette. Azura’s father, often mistaken for Cadros, was called Milos. As I mentioned before, Flora and Felicia’s mom was called Cerisa, for her pink hair (cerise is French for cherry).
▸ Oh, and Jakob and Hana’s parents were Helena and Astor and Shinjiro and Tadame, respectively. I also had names for Gunter’s wife and son, called Laoise (pronounced Lee-sha) and Bernelle.
▸ Charlotte is really protective of Benny. He may seem like a strong, scary guy, but she knows he’s a gentle soul and she wouldn’t want anyone to take advantage of someone so kind and sweet like that. If you ever screw with Benny, you screw with Charlotte, and that’s not something you ever want to do. She’ll make you rue the day you even thought about hurting him. If you’re like me and you like Charlotte as the queen of Nohr, you may see Benny as one of her retainers someday, but I think a lot of people would find that hurting the queen herself would get you less punishment than hurting her beloved retainer.
▸ Azura probably has like, a huge emotional comedown period after the events of Revelation. Like, this is a woman who has lived her entire life in fear of this beast coming to destroy her and what few things she is still permitted to hold dear, so to finally be safe for the first time in her life and to have her kingdom back is too much to bear. There are probably a lot of big feelings surrounding all of this that take her a long time (and probably some professional counsel) to work through.
▸ I flat out just refuse to believe that Izana died in Revelation. After the events of the game, he totally just stood up and kept going, pleased with himself for having convinced Takumi to join Corrin despite his own feelings of hesitation. It made the next banquet that everyone was at together really awkward, because the leaders of two major nations were really convinced that the Duke of Izumo is dead, and now they look really bad in front of everyone else being surprised that he’s alive.
In her time, she never had time to think about things like her gender. She was a girl in the middle of a war against the fell dragon Grima. There was no time for much of anything else.
This wasn’t much of a thought even when she was going into the past. She asked Gerome for a spare mask and decided to hide herself as a boy cause it seemed like the best idea given the brand in her eye.
When Lucina took the name Marth, her only thoughts were on Marth being the hero king and how she wanted to be a hero for her people.
Then people started calling her Marth, something started to change in her. She,, liked being called Marth. She almost preferred it, but at the same time, she still liked the name Lucina. After all, it was the name her parents gave to her.
As Marth, he felt powerful. He felt like no one looked down on him for being a woman. He was a powerful swordsman, who in some ways his father respected. Despite his cryptic nature.
Then his mask broke during an attack, and suddenly, he was still Marth. But she was now a woman. No one looked down on her for this, but it felt wrong.
During the two years before Valm’s attack, Lucina put some deep thought into her confused feelings as she trained to get stronger. Her head was racing. She failed to save her aunt, she failed to change these future events, and she had no idea why she didn’t feel like a woman.
Lucina didn’t mind being a woman sometimes, and she felt comfortable with herself. Other times, she wished she was seen as a guy, and he disliked being seen as a girl.
Marth finally figured himself out when he met an individual in an inn he was staying in. They struck up a conversation with Marth, and there was something about how they carried themselves that Marth liked. They slipped in that they were neither man nor woman, and while Marth didn’t question it, it made him realize he didn’t have to be one or the other. He would rejoin his father, understanding this finally.
Lucina is bigender and used she/he. He also uses the name Marth interchangeably with her birth name

Can you make any writing about Robin fire emblem (Male) being autistic? (Like showing his special interests or Chrom helping him deal with noise or something) Please ignore this ask if no!
Nya: this is a nice change from what we usually get! i'm happy to do some hcs likes this, hope you enjoy love~ also added a hint of gay gay homosexual gay chrobin hope you don't mind-
TW: none? probably??
first things first, get yourself an autistic tactician. they can only be defeated by another autistic tactician in a battle of wits. we autistic fellows are far beyond you mortals understanding, do not question our ways.
anyway
when it's go time it's go time. man will forget to do his basic needs and probably ignore them when he does remember because he is in the zone and needs to work until he no longer can comprehend the simplest tasks. Chrom is one of the few who can get away with dragging his sleep deprived ass away from his precious diagrams and maps without getting electrocuted to unconsciousness. this is because he has grown resistant to it.
our favorite one sleeved blue hair sword man has to either tie his favorite birdie to a bed or practically lay on his until he falls asleep. food comes after the shut eye, all the shepherds learn this the hard way. as his mind starts winding down the exhaustion hits him harder than Truck-kun does an isekai protag. face plants into his soup and will drown if nobody notices the sounds of bubbles popping.
also nobody questions it when they find the great tactician dead to the world with one or more of the shepherds laying with him. during orientation Fredrick tells all new recruits that if they see Robin sleeping with anyone on the list in their pamphlets that neither of them are cheating this is one of two ways to make sure he gets rest. also do not release him if he is chained to a bed unless absolutely necessary he is in gay baby jail being punished for not following the kings orders. if he says he needs to use the bathroom please refer back to the list of people on the pamphlet and locate the nearest one to inform them of the situation.
his favorite nap buddy his Tiki. her body is warmer than others (cuz y'know dragon) and makes a nice cuddle buddy. preferably not her dragon form, he's gotten crushed enough times to know the dangers. his least favorite is Nowi. she's a bed hog and has a habit of transforming in her sleep if her dragonstone is on her.
when he's not on duty he goes out to his favorite bookstores to see if there's any new bestsellers since he's last stopped by. has befriended all the owners and clerks at each one and will spend hours discussing books of all kinds with any of them. his favorite is a back alley shop run by an elder lady who happily listens to his hours long ramblings. she always has his favorite tea in where she keeps her tea for when he drops by so he doesn't get a hoarse voice from all his talking. sometimes he brings Morgan along to chat with the lady instead when he just wants to read quietly. he feels bad otherwise cuz he knows she's a lil lonely.
due to having fought in many battles he isn't phased easily by loud noises. but there are some sounds that just throw him completely off his game. seriously enemies could use this to their advantage he cannot deal with them and have a clear head. Chrom is very aware of how they affect his bestie and tries to find a solution asap. bothered by the sound of the wind sneaking through a crack in the wall? the wall by given the 'Chrom is training and misjudged his strength' treatment. door hinge squeaks make his skin crawl? the door will be replaced within hours even if that means he has to switch it with another door in the building,
the reason Robin wears gloves his because he can't stand the feeling or sight of blood on his hands. it makes him squeamish though he isn't entirely sure why. maybe it's because it reminds him of the relationship he has with Grima. he's a bit embarrassed by this so he doesn't share this with anyone he isn't super close with. only those who are more observant will notice the change in his demeanor because he's so good at hiding it. carries around two extra pairs of gloves in case some get into the ones he's wearing. Miriel, Lisa, and Fredrick also carry some extras. Chrom forgets half the time but he means well.
when he gets super excited about something that goes in hand with his interests he has a tendency to go off on a tangent. you probably won't be able to get a word in and it might take a bit to excuse yourself because he'll keep interrupting you. please be patient with him he's just really happy. his hands are all over the place while he talks and might start pacing around.
his stimming comes in the form of leg bouncing, finger tapping, and pen clicking (or tapping idk if click pens exists for him). unless he's presenting his leg or fingers start moving the longer a meeting is. Fredrick is usually the one to help him keep his stimming from being distracting during meetings as Chrom needs to keep his focus on the meeting at hand. the most Chrom usually does is nudging Robin's foot with his own silently reminding him to not be too distracting. Fredrick's methods involve coughing into his hand, foot nudges, a quick poke to the arm or back, and sometimes (usually when Robin is feeling extremely stressed) setting a hand on his shoulder to help ground him. there have been a few occasions when he's had to have to writing utensil snatched away lightning fast because of the all the racket he's making with it but hey, it happens to the best of us.
will throw up if he gets anything super spongy slimy in his mouth a big no no for him. do not give him calamari he will puke and refuse to eat anything for the next week that isn't something he is absolutely sure is safe.
gets pouty when his favorite pillow is unavailable. it smells like chrom his favorite person and unless he's sleeping with or given something that has the same scent he refuses to sleep. also can't sleep if it's completely silent. a curse of being autistic is your mind is either hyper focused on one thing or there are too many things going through your head. background noise helps to keep his thoughts from running off like that enemy you defeat multiple times but can only kill once you reach a certain part of the game. (looking at you Hubert)
has an after battle routine that must not be disturbed less you want a grumpy tactician on the job. and trust me, a grumpy Robin is a trigger happy Robin. and by that i mean he will cast bolganone at you for simply saying hi.
random assortment of nohr siblings headcanons (part 1)
- xander can shred it on the violin
- elise’s mount is a comically short shetland pony named sir sparkle the 3rd. she refuses to elaborate on what happened to sir sparkle the 1st and 2nd
- camilla sews her siblings names into their underwear. including leo and xander, against their will
- leo has a paper pinned on the wall next to the door in his bedroom reminding him to flip his collar right side out
- corrin’s handwriting is borderline illegible and whenever corrin sends xander war council reports, all xander does is write ????? next to corrin’s writing
- when corrin was a kid and xander stayed with them at night, he kissed them on the cheek when he thought they were asleep before he left to train. unfortunately corrin was almost always pretending to sleep
- leo has seasonal allergies and dies every single spring. when traveling on horseback with his siblings, leo would sometimes sneeze so many times in a row that they had to stop and wait for him to finish
- despite this, leo hates it when anyone else sneezes, and is likely to respond to a sneeze with “stop. you’re disgusting”
- leo regularly read to corrin while they were in the fortress, and even though the books leo read bored corrin to tears, they just enjoyed the company
- elise is an atrocious cook, assuming her food doesn’t burn in a crescendo of hellfire before it’s even done. her family have created an art out of tricking her into thinking they ate her cooking, when really it was tossed
- every time any of their siblings visited the fortress, the first thing corrin did was run up and hug the first person that walked in the door. leo strategically makes sure he is the last person to enter to avoid it
- the nohrians have a male family cat (that is technically camillas) named erik. camilla, elise and corrin all love erik. xander is neutral on the cat, and erik goes out of his way to torment and bother leo whenever possible
Headcanon: Inigo has pink hair like his mother but dyes due to issues with his image.
Most of the Awakening kids have the canon hair colour of their mom/parent [with the exception of some like Kjelle, the Morgans, etc.], and by that theory, Ini should have pink hair like Olivia. [but he doesn't and i feel extremely robbed.]
Inigo is insecure. Both about his image and his abilities, much so like his mother often is. In his paralogue, when Olivia asks him if he dances, he says that he does, although not as well as her, and that many people don't look as kindly to male dancers. Although he brushes it off and says he's content to dance for the ladies, I feel that this still strikes him as he is constantly avoiding to show anyone him actually dancing and would rather dance in secret.
I would say that he had pink hair like his mom when he was born and throughout a great part of his childhood and was really proud of it, as he wanted to be just like his mom and dance with her. However, in the eye of the public, the same people who would diss him for being a male dancer, they would also comment on how feminine he was and ridicule him for that. [Which, anyone who does so would simply have to catch these hands]. This would then put Inigo in the position where he has trouble with and is insecure about his image, which leads him to trying to change it and making small changes to his appearance and general actions so that he can show people that he is not as feminine or whatever they say he is, ultimately leading to him dying his hair.
Gerome canonly does have the dark pink hair that Cherche sports, but he is also a mysterious axe-wielder who has a wyvern that will eat you. So I feel like comments about Inigo being a dancer, who had social anxiety, would much rather hang out with girls due to his mom's advice, added onto the pink hair would just mess with his perception of himself and he would dye his hair as an impulse to rid of some of it.
In Fates, the children have the canon hair colour of their father/parent, and Soleil has the same pink shade of hair that Olivia has meaning those genes did pass down. And I choose to believe that it was because Laslow has that pink hair that's still just concealed.
