Percy had always been Rose's favourite uncle. Somehow she softened him and wouldn't leave his side no matter what. That because she could see his good heart and love for his family beneath his inteldctual words and uptight attitude.
Is the brother in Favourite Uncle the “large and terrifying older brother” referred to in Broken Homes, do we think? The ROL universe has so many inconsistencies. I wish BA could either spend a little more time tying up loose ends or just wrote much longer books that tie up loose ends. @greyhairedgeekgirl @ilikesallydonovan @thebaconsandwichofregret
He’s not described as large and terrifying though? Abigail says “that was nothing, you should meet my brother” when Lesley describes the arrival of the Thames gods as “emotionally manipulative…world class”. That’s the only mention of Abigail’s brother in that book.Â
The man who sells her the charm talks about “your large and terrifying brother”…referring to PETER, who is standing right there with her. Peter is often mistaken for Abigail’s brother/father/etc in the series, for obvious reasons.Â
In general I find the books to be very consistent/good on continuity, with few minor details and no major ones changing from book to book - the exceptions are things which are completely irrelevant to the ongoing plot and even then I can only think of two persistent ones (the number of siblings in large families, the colour of the Asbo.)Â
Did the ebook edition of LS contain the short story "Favourite Uncle"? I was looking forward to your thoughts on it, but I can be patient if it hasn't come into your hands yet!
It did not, and I haven’t read it - the e-books have never had the short stories and previously they’ve only been legally available to people who’ve bought the Waterstones special edition in the UK, which they’re commissioned for. (Aside from King of the Rats, which had been released previously.) As with a couple of the previous ones, I understand that someone in fandom may make it available for the rest of us at some point, though. :)Â
lets stick our middle fingers at drones in our cottage backyards at dinner with uncle blake

How to measure life...
How to measure life…
Sometimes as you tumble your way through the ups and downs of life you meet someone who soon becomes embedded in your heart. Someone who makes you smile and laugh, but also makes you ponder and think. Someone with kindness in their heart, adventure in their spirit and music in their soul. Someone with intelligence, wit and humour, and the wisdom to change the way you think about life and death…
