YUZU DID HIS FIRST QUAD since the Olympics today !!
After the finale at the Kanazawa show today (Saturday), he finished off the whole show by doing a quad toe !
Everyone was so exciteedd — what a wonderful experience to see it :)

Fantasy on Ice 2018 in Kobe - Yuzuru Hanyu “Haru yo, Koi” Day 2 broadcast screenshots pt.1(of 2) (Part 2 here) pianist: Kiyozuka Shinya
I took a ridiculous amount of screenshots trying to get the clearest image. It was hard paring that down to the best split-second frames, but I somehow decided on these. There were so many pretty lines/forms he made that the bonus section here needed to be a second part. I’ve included a few bonus shots and the full sizes will be in Part 2.

That hydroblade gets suuuuper low. When he repeated it in the finale, the commentators said his face looks to be just about 1-2 cm off the ground. I took a bunch of shots, but this one showed the lowest he got before transitioning up and out of the hydro.
Fantasy on Ice 2018 Kanazawa Day 3 At the start of the show, the announcer claimed that Fantasy on Ice is “the most amazing, magical figure skating show in the world.” He may have a point -- after all, we got a rare sighting of the legendary Poohzuru in his natural habitat.
----------------- Seriously, though. He treats his fans well. Yuzuru spoiled his fans by bringing out Pooh ears for the finale on the last day of the Fantasy on Ice Kanazawa stop. Unfortunately, he had trouble fixing the headband back in place after the final spin, and even though someone helped him adjust it, it seemed to still bother him and he kept fidgeting with the way it fit. After some deliberation, he tucked it into his waistband to form a tiny Pooh tail.
It made the crazy-hard 4T3A sequence feel adorable.
(Last year he wore a cat ear headband for the FaOI Kobe stop, so it’s as if he’s building from that.)
