i swear the world has not been the same since yuzuru hanyu retired from delighting the universe of figure skating. gets to show the value of great artists as high-level athletes, it’s simply drab without them. dostoevsky already said that beauty will save the world and even though he still skates outside of competitions, yuzu’s absence from the big stage proves it

✜ ♡ yuzuru moodboard ! ⨳ ɞ
These HQ photoshoot is something else. Yuzuru Hanyu, is a one in a generation, one in a millennia, a phenomenon.
Yuzuru Hanyu for GQ and Gucci, 2024.
just sharing my recommended watch order for yuzuru hanyu’s competitive career for people who just want to casually get into him!
olympics 2014 SP parisienne walkways
the program that made him win his first olympic gold. i’d say this is like the ‘hook’ for many of his fans. just 19 yr old yuzuru making it look so easy and stylish
grand prix final 2014 LP phantom of the opera
very underrated program of his imo. this program was an amazing comeback after he had a terrible crash earlier in this season.
worlds 2012 LP romeo and juliet
very important program for many of us fans. its a nice step back from the yuzuru who had already won the 2014 olympics. a glimpse at how he was like when he was still a diamond in the rough. this was a year after the 2011 tohoku earthquake-tsunami that devastated japan, including sendai which is yuzuru’s hometown. you can tell he was carrying a lot during this program.
grand prix final 2015 SP ballad no. 1 and
grand prix final 2015 LP seimei
these two grand prix final programs were BEASTS. he quite literally wrote history by setting three new world records (SP, LP, combined total) just two weeks after he set them in the NHK trophy (recommended watch also!). an absolutely hysterical time to be a fan. imo, these programs are amazing to watch right after his 2012 worlds because it shows how much he has grown and improved in just 3 years. enough to be called the GOAT without dispute.
grand prix final 2016 SP lets go crazy
personally my favorite SP of his even though he makes a tiny mistake on his first jump. so rewatchable.
worlds 2017 hope and legacy
widely regarded by many fans to be the best free skate program of yuzuru and of any male skater of all time. he really was nothing less than perfect here. it’s like he was possessed.
olympics 2018 SP ballad no. 1 and
olympics 2018 LP seimei
of course, to cap it all off with yuzuru defending his olympic gold by achieving a consecutive victory 🥹
bonus watch: rostelecom 2019 SP otonal
if you liked all of these, just know that yuzuru has other competitive programs AND exhibition programs just waiting to be discovered at your convenience 😊 this list is just a compilation of his best performances

LAAAAAWWWWWWWDDDDD
His side poking out 🫣😳
i'm going to celebrate lazuli's birthday the only way i know how:
posting about her!
I reckon that Ranka would scare most of the other host parents but in very different ways. Yuzuru and Yoshio are TOTALLY not intimidated by the tall confident drag queen, Yuzuha is mostly scared of how cheap the dresses are and how they're somehow not tearing. Hayato doesn't particularly care, he's just supportive of Yuzuha's concerns. Akira is... Homophobic. Yorihisa is also homephobic but he can't tell the difference between a trans woman and a drag queen and he's homophobic but not transphobic so he's just very confused. Ranka is endlessly amused by all of this.
