So a webtoon adaption of fantasy high came out, and it's been a very weird experience to read it as a fictive because that's not me. Riz Gukgak in the actual play show and some fanworks is me. Not this guy. Alternate dimension. (I mean it literally is, there's lore differences and stuff. Which is good if everything stays the exact same then why bother adapting it lmao) but IT FEELS. SO WEIRD.
Watching the time quangle live shows (a bunch of non canon alternate time lines, essentially) and seeing my friends or even me wasn't that weird because that still felt like a version of me but this Riz feels like an entirely differently person. It's kind of freaky to observe someone so different from me that's wearing something that could be my face (though it's not. Really. I'm a gross little guy. He's a little guy but certainly not gross, he's barely even a creature.) I've been talking about him to some friends a lot I do think he's cute? I have some gripes with the cute anime protagonist-isation of my source but like, it also worked on me. I'm smitten with him. That guy is so squishy. He looks like two years younger than everyone else. He looks like I could punt him. He's not only a younger but also a little-er and more pathetic version of me and I think if the quangle ever brought us together I would have found him so endearing I couldn't have been embarrassed. Finally finished Fantasy High Sophomore Year, thus concludes Nightmare King's Crown Round Two Electric Boogaloo, just as I run out of pages in my colour-coded-and-categorized-to-hell-and-back notebook to write down anything else (I filled 60). On the 44th page which was around ep13 I had a major breakthrough and put down my theory. I won't say what it was because if I said what I was right about it would spoil THE ENTIRE PLOT.
I HIT LITERALLY EVERY MYSTERY DEAD ON. I HAD THE ENTIRE CASE CRACKED BY EPISODE 13. I GOD DAMN KNEW IT. RECORD BEATEN. WORLD'S GREATEST DETECTIVE.
