List five (or more) characters that you hate (or give you the Ick as the youngsters says). A character that makes you roll your eyes, annoys you or is simply just like a bad spot in a show that you like, and tell us why - we promise not to judge, even if the reason is very very stupid 🤭😆

1.) Benjamin Franklin Gates, National Treasure (2004)

Beyond stealing the Declaration of Independence (I'm chill with that), the crimes I am trying Ben Gates for include, but are not limited to, neglecting both his girlfriend and his best friend until such a time that he can use them to his own benefit, i.e. breaking into his (ex)girlfriend's house to steal her government work id, never owning up to any of his own issues or learning from them and ignoring Riley's accomplishments but showing up to ask for his help in breaking into the aforementioned house. Also treating Riley like a crazy conspiracy theorist (hypocrite much?) even though Riley is probably the smartest person he knows (and everyone he knows in these films is very intelligent so that's saying a lot. - and Riley turned out to be RIGHT).

2.) Fred Jones, Scooby Doo (2002)

Fred Jones was introduced in the first few minutes of the film to be egotistic and manipulating the public view of the gang, taking credit for Velma's plans and likely for everyone else's contributions, as well. In deleted scenes it is revealed that Velma went through years of therapy that was reinforced by the public's view (or lack thereof) of her and her contributions to Mystery Inc. He also verbally abused Daphne, mocking her for being danger prone, which lead to her going on her own journey in studying self defense. His actions in this scene are what lead to Mystery Inc breaking up. Throughout the film, he only ever apologizes once (to Velma) and never to Daphne, despite his continued "danger prone" comments. It is later revealed, that not only was he the cause of the gang breaking up, but that he was the cause of Scrappy going insane and trying to destroy all humanity: in the flashback it is revealed that Scrappy challenged Fred for power in the gang. Assuming that Fred treated the gang the same way we see him treat them in the film, I believe that Scrappy was seeking justice for his friends. Instead, Fred (it can be assumed) assaults Scrappy by forcefully and violently throwing him to the street (on his head, likely causing possible brain/neck/spinal damage) and abandones him in the desert. And yet Fred reclaims power at the end of the film.

3.) Every one in Mystery Incorporated and subsequent films and series that maintain that catty bitterness and shallow interpretations of the gang. I don't have time to list them and I don't care to remember them. 🤮

4.) Ichabod Crane, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

A name neaning "without glory" is fitting for the school teacher thirsting after an 18 year old('s father's money), he is shown to pick on the tougher boys and let the weaker boys off the hook when spanking them during class. It's my theory that Bram Bones was one of his students not too long ago and Crane tormented him, too. All's well that end's well. 🤷‍♀️

5.) Mitch Wilkerson, National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Not to steal from Rachel, but Mitch really sucked. Between the uninspired writing and Harris' lackluster performance (the dude literally said he didn't care and just took the role as an easy do nothing thing for money. I hate him, too), he just ended up being a boring a-hole. Did you even know those other guys are supposed to be his brothers? In a movie making ties to the civil war, a war od brothers against brothers, you'd think that'd be significant but nope. Danny and whathisbutt act merely as henchmen and disappear before the end of the film. Like I wish Mitch had done.

6.) I could really put down most of the cast of characters in the BBC Ghosts, but I think I particularly dislike Alison.

Unlike the CBS ray of sunshine Sam, who has her own issues but is still fairly likeable, Alison just comes off as mean more often than not. Her jokes in the April Fool's episode veered into abuse, and the finale gave the message of "it's best to abandon your friends if they're annoying".

I keep thinking I'm done and then the last one will remind me of someone else.

7.) Flower Montero, CBS Ghosts

I started off not particularly liking Flower. I don't really remember why, but eventually she redeemed herself and I hope she can again but tbh I'm not sure how after last season. Her incessant aphobia and shaming of Sas was disgusting. It truly truly ruined the character for me. I had pieces l was preparing to put together for a cosplay of her until then. And now....

It made it sooooo easy to cancel my subscription when the boycott came up. Done and done. I'm honestly on the fence about even pirating the new season because I kind of think last season might have marked the top of a slippery slope of worse and worse writing.

You make a good point, in that, I don’t think the overall atmosphere will change. It’s a longtime one that has been cultivated. That said, it’s wrong that it’s like this, a forum SHOULD be welcome to all and not intentionally alienate fandom groups, and I see no harm in voicing opinions and observations in trying to enlighten and possibly change things for the better. Could it be the equivalent of pounding at a giant wall that has gotten so big it barely registers our tiny fists? Sure, and likely, but why not try? For me, I’ve got nothing to lose.

Yes: both Mobius and Sylvie abused Loki during the series. And yes, biphobia and transphobia has increased in this fandom (because of this shit show). However, none of y'all are innocent.

Many S*lkis love to harp on the "wah, you biphobic misogynist! You are mad your gay ship isn't canon!" excuse on Twitter and on here, but in you all are silencing those are female and/or female presenting and/or trans women (who may or may not be bi), as well as other bi folk who found more issues with S*lki. Such as the pro-Autogynephilia messaging Disney/Marvel been pushing (there is literally no way to dance around it, it is autogynephilia. Please stop lying to yourselves - KH, SDM, MW and EM have all revealed their true colors when it comes down to trans people and their views on them. Sophia has blocked trans folk [idk if these people are for either ship] on Twitter who called her out on her transphobia and/or critiquing her and/or her character; and Kate has been outright ignoring and playing innocent to her fucking audience members) by forcing Loki with a female version of himself who is a massive sociopathic bitch, and the actual biphobia is how so many people (either Lokius or S*lki or none) called Loki's sexuality as nothing more than him being frisky til he fell in "true love" with Sylvie (yes, I have seen these horseshit takes. And it needs to stop) and the fact Kate herself said she wasn't going to continue exploring that element of Loki's identity (then again, she never did. Stop praising her for literally doing fuck all), and the incest issue as well as the IPV that Sylvie performs on Loki makes Amber Heard look like a fucking saint.

And, before anyone gets pissy, Mobius is just as bad. Being Waldy's self insert, of course (much like how Sylvie was Katie's), he treats Loki like shit and threatens him with death and tortures him repeatedly throughout the series. However, I myself still enjoy the natural and authentic chemistry between Wilson and Hiddleston, and for me, that makes this ship a little more enjoyable than the former. But, I know just how toxic the Lokius fandom is on Twitter (I mean, Twitter in general is a toxic cest pool owned by Elon Musk now. Are we really surprised?) and they need to learn just to block and ignoring and to not engage in sending threats. If you are by any chance a Lokius shipper who has/planned to send threats - piss off into Hell, rn.

Hell - BOTH parties need to realize that they need to learn just to block and ignore. NOT SEND THREATS (Or you can piss off into hell). This is the problem that both parties are guilty of: sending threats and/or KYS messages to anyone regardless of their shipping stance; hell, even valid criticisms about the show and people who've made them- yeah, they've gotten threats as well. I have seen a few mutals of mine repeatedly be sent death threat after death threat, for posting their opinions ON THEIR BLOG. And it needs to stop.
