Saw someone on reddit call todomomo fans brain dead because "Shoto and Momo barely have any screentime together and if you ask people why they ship it, they always say something like 'it's because he respects her!'" and when someone pointed out hey sometimes you can just think it's neat, the first person replied that compatibility is a real thing and (I quote) how do you expect to make your way through the world if you’re unable to back up your opinions and thoughts? You’re not going to get very far if you can’t back up your basic likes and dislikes with more than just ✨vibes✨.
They then commented that they were in a happy long relationship so they 'understand more or less what makes a relationship successful'. Like good for you hun...But people can play with dolls however they want. If someone says they like blue, do you sprint over and demand exactly why they like the colour, then act all smug and say they woun't survive the 'real world' if they reply with idk I just like it?
Shipping isn't that serious. MHA shipping isn't that serious. Let people play with their dolls and go back to the sandbox already.
Also, saying that someone needs to explain their reasoning behind shipping something, then going oh I'm not demanding they explain stuff! I just think that if you can't explain it to me, you should keep it to yourself! when called out is certainly a move. You yourself called it trivial so why are you saying that if someone can't explain why they like something, most of the time you're going to think less of their intelligence?
