I feel bad for the fans of the HTTYD books The movies are a COMPLETELY different story, and most of the movie fans didn't even know there were books.
And because the movies are so popular, there probably won't be an actual adaptation of the books for a long time.
Also, Alvin the Treacherous sounds like a much more entertaining villain in the books than in the TV series, as well as being better than the film villains.
