Fandom Problem #14,308:

I'm a fanartist and a few months ago I participated in a fandom event to grow my account. The event had a list of prompts for each day, lasting 7 days in total. Participants were allowed to do as many prompts as they wanted, as all submissions were going to be reblogged so long as they didn't break the rules. Pretty standard stuff

Because it gave me a long time to prepare, I decided to do three prompts for 3 consecutive days. 3 pieces of fanart. May not seem much to the pro artists out there, but I'm just a hobbyist who unfortunately draws very slowly. So I spent months focusing on drawing those pieces and nothing else. I ended up finishing them earlier than I needed to, surprising myself, and for the fun of it I made an alternate version for one of them. That's 4 pieces of fanart that I put lots of time and effort into

The event started. First couple of days had prompts I didn't choose so I skipped them. Then the day with the prompt I chose came and I posted my first work. That same day, the event host suddenly went offline, no announcement or anything. I assumed they were just busy with real life, or felt so dejected by the lack of submissions for the previous days (there were none) that they didn't bother to log in. Maybe both, who knows? Either way I didn't think much of it. I kept posting for the next 2 days, they remained offline for those 2 days as well. The day after I stopped and they were online again, which was a relief because that meant they didn't abandon the whole thing like I was afraid

I logged off and didn't check my account for a while as a break. When I logged back in there were more submissions that came in after mine were posted, all of them pretty good or even better. I took time scrolling through the event's tag to admire them before checking the event host's blog. There I saw all submissions reblogged by them in chronological order... except for mine. I immediately panicked and checked if there were something wrong with my submissions, but couldn't find anything. My fanart didn't break the rules, I tagged my posts correctly (and they did show up in the event's tag), and I @ the host just as required

When I finally calmed down, I realized that this might have happened because I posted while the host was offline. I went through their blog again, this time scrolling down further to make sure and yep, they missed my posts. The weird thing was when they went online again, they acted like the 3 days before that didn't happen and continued the event as normal, posting the 3 prompts I chose for the 3 days after that. I had had enough confusion at this point. I DM'd them right away and politely asked if they could reblog my posts now, even if the event had ended. They never answered

But you know what they did a week later? They announce that since there were so few submissions, the event would be extended and they would continue to would reblog late submissions till the end of this year (2025)

It's been 2 months, my submissions were never acknowledged or reblogged and still aren't now as I'm typing this
