Lack of gsgw ocs in this fandom perfectly explained by the real concern that making ocs might make them real in DER world and end up torturing the blorbos. similar for why there's no self-insert ocs bc nobody wants to get isekai'd to there

The fact that the Narrator's (or specifically the Creator of the construct) greatest fear is death, but he was willing to kill himself in an effort to spare everyone else from experiencing what he feared. There's something... remarkable about that. We may not always be friendly with each other and I dont agree with his views and he can be called a coward in a way, but his heart is a selfless and self-sacrificing sort in the end and doesnt it take courage to walk towards what you feared most if it meant nobody else had to face it?
My XiYao figures need a nice place to sit and have tea and I think this might be it...
Birthday present for meeeeee~
I also feel you on the KHR reboot, though I can't find it in myself to completely give up hope. You know what I would happily settle for? The manga being put back in print. I live in the USA and I hate that it isn't sold anymore
anywhere. It's near impossible to find. And you can't find anything after the Future Arc. Hell, I'd love to have an official translation of the Hidden Bullet novels and such.
Anyways, I know it's unlikely to happen but I'd still love to see it. Thanks again for your amazing posts. 💕💕
I can definitely get not wanting to completely give up hope! I wish with all my soul a reboot would come along and surprise us all, revitalize the fandom, so I get the want for it, just don't really think it will happen sadly! Oh my god though, do I feel you on that one. Canada here - I have volumes 1-5 and 7-10 collected in earlier days of the fandom before they became quite so impossible to find. I cannot find volume 6 anywhere and even finding any volumes past 10 now? Impossible, unless I want the original Japanese versions and even then, they're used copies and expensive. I'd honestly love to see a rerelease of the whole manga, especially if they'd put out omnibus editions to make it easier to collect and afford! And you are definitely preaching to the choir on the Hidden Bullet novels. I have so many other series where translations of the light novels are easy to find and it should've been like that with KHR. Hell, I bought the School Briefs for BNHA and the BSD light novels right from my Kindle! The Hidden Bullet novels, translated and readily available, I think would have drawn a lot of fans in. The fan translations I've read were all solid, yes, but hard to find and I had to use Google Translate on a couple of them, but the stories alone?? God, some of them were absolutely incredible and they all added a lot of really interesting aspects to the characters! You're not alone in those wishes at all and I'm with you - I doubt it would happen. I'm sure the publishers and such don't think there's enough of a demand, but it would be like 20+ years of Christmases all at once if it ever happened! And aww, thank you for such sweet words and for stopping by to talk with me 😊
I don't mean to be rude to the anon but why on earth are you heartbroken if Dylan is dating someone??? His life has nothing to do with you??
Whether or not he's dating someone that's entirely his business.. I honestly can't stand people who somehow feel betrayed/upset when a celebrity is shown to date another human... Like what exactly did you think would happen?? They stay alone??
Also wanted to thankyou for being one of the few blogs that draw the line even if you are a fan. A lot of other blogs go way over the top in intruding on his life like some sort of Ken doll control thing.. Its insane..he's a person living his life.. Let him be.
I think sometimes people get wrapped up in things and can lose sight of the fact that he's literally just a person, you know? He's also openly talked about how celebrity weirds him out and that he's shy. I don't know.
If I ever actually saw him, I think there's like an 80% chance I wouldn't even speak to him. 10% chance I'd ask him for a picture. Like... I just wouldn't feel comfortable approaching a stranger.
He's always so gracious with fans, and I feel like he deserves for us to behave in a way that kind of earns that? I don't know. Most people are lovely and I'm sure he's happy to speak to them, but some of the things I see written and said on Twitter specifically are... lowkey frightening. I think people just need a bit of perspective.
I understand there might be a tinge of disappointment when your celebrity crush isn't single anymore because it removes that remote chance, but like...if we really care about him and his well-being, we should want him to be happy.
Here's to Dylan being happy and getting LAID on the regular. He deserves that and more ;)

From ur perspective, what do you think is the demographic of clerith and cloti fans? I’m just curious, I know this debate continues with the older fans, but I’m unsure how it impacts new fans as I separate myself from fandom dynamics these days (aka I’m old lol).
Sorry about this taking some time to get to.
I’d say it’s not equal and cloti definitely outnumber clerith. I heard back in the OG days that clerith had a ton of fans and cloti was the minority, but over the years that number shifted more towards cloti.
If I had to guess why I’d say it’s because individually, Tifa and Cloud just have more fans, which means when it comes to shipping, together they have a bigger demographic. Even if you only like one half, then it’s highly likely you respect canon even if you’re not a shipper. I’ve also seen a lot of cleriths say they respect canon too, so even though they’re not cloti shippers, the fact is, they acknowledge canon, which the devs are likely aware of seeing how they know a lot more about the shipping war than fans expect.
As a newer fan myself, although my sister is an OGer, I think there’s a big change in how the fandom is representing itself. Newer fans are only being introduced to Remake, so then when they see the delusional stuff from OG cleriths it doesn’t make sense unless they let themselves be tricked into believing it. Remake’s doing things differently. Both me and my sister were surprised at the amount of cloti non-optional content in the Midgar section. The first time we saw that train roll it was like omg where did that come from? And then we sat there asking each other if the devs were gonna do similar stuff for Aerith and Cloud and the further into the game we got and the more cloti bias we saw it was like, no, the devs aren’t doing that. My sister was like “That’s going to cause trouble.” which is the understatement of the century lol
Obviously at first playthrough all the misconceptions and LTD expectations were there, but then the more I played the game over the more I realised it’s not what we think it is. At the end of Remake, it’s clear, Cloud and Aerith are definitely comrades on the way to becoming friends, unlike OG, where there was this immediate attachment to her - which is fine because they literally just met and he hasn’t gone through half the shit he has with her that he did with Barret to build their relationship and they hated each other in chapter one.
Sorry, just gonna aside for a sec
If we think about it, Cloud just met Barret, too, and by the end, they’re buds. Barret admits he was wrong about Cloud. Cloud gets upset when Barret dies and tries to protect him when he wants to do a whole last stand with Rufus. They did 2 missions together, fought together at the pillar, looked for survivors, helped the locals and got to know each other in a positive way from their negative first impression.
Cloud has a negative first impression of Aerith too because of how she treated him, but she’s spent less time with him to change that, although it’s on the way thanks to how she helped him save Tifa and the time they all spent together in the sewers and graveyard. But, she’s had less time overall with Cloud than Barret and the quality of her time isn’t the kind that forms a strong bond like it does with a comrade. It’s only at the end of the game that Aerith becomes a comrade in the battle with the whispers and Sephiroth. Which isn’t to say she won’t become a better friend to him later.
In contrast, Cloud got a positive first impression of Red, which explains the ease they become comrades. Cloud’s not got to go against that negativity to build a relationship with him and that’s why he’s polite and respectful to him during the drum and why he panics when Red falls from their level.
So, yeah, I think in general the difference between OG and Remake is what’s dividing the fandom again. Tifa’s overwhelming popularity as a singular character, as well as her coupledom with Cloud, and the cloti fandom just being more positive in general suggest they have the larger demographic of fans.
I just finished Silver Snow and I'm confused as hell. Spoilers ahead. First of all-
The TWSITD ending is Verdant Wind 2.0, but without Claude. In fact, what the heck happens to Claude? It was my understanding he went missing during the battle of Gronder, so I expected to hear from him again. Nope. I got squat. I'm guessing he either died like Dimitri did or was injured so badly that he quietly returned to Almyra.
Also, that ghost scene with Dimitri? How does Byleth know what he looked like after the timeskip? Was Byleth dreaming when they saw him? Why would Dimitri come haunt Byleth of all people? I'd think he'd sooner knock on Felix's door, or go find Sylvain or Ingrid. You know, contact his closest pals. Oh, silly me. Those people are not the main character (Byleth) so we can't focus on their story. See, THIS is the kind of plothole crap you get when you add a self-insert character! It's very fun to be a self-insert, but the cost is a well-explained and consistent story.
So. Rhea. She just. Loses her ability to control her powers? Goes batshit? How come she didn't do that in Verdant Wind? Tell me the reason. She gets hurt in both routes.
And so? Rhea... dies? Or something? Byleth catches her like a floating sack of potatoes? And it the scene ends without any closure?
Okay. I get it. Sothis is in Byleth. Byleth will probably become an immortal god/dess or something. They're going to outlive everyone in this depressing game except for Flayn and Seteth.
Next point: I married Seteth. Sothis is basically his mom, right? And Byleth is fused with Sothis? I MARRIED MY SON. 😱
I am wrecked.
I really disliked Crimson Flower but I have a new favorite on the POOP list. Congratulations Silver Snow, you're #1. Thank you for explaining nothing and giving us oodles of plotholes.
There's so much more I could gripe about, but I'm tired. I've officially played all four routes. It's done. If you'll excuse me, I'm taking my depressed ass back to the Blue Lion House where I belong.
I continue to nostalg my way through old fandoms
Was reading some old reviews to a well-received fic and realized that virtually everyone who commented on the last lines of the story assumed I was alluding to a heartwarming scenario where a dying character is reincarnated as another canon character, giving him the chance to lay to rest unresolved issues with the lover he’s leaving behind, instead of what I ACTUALLY intended, which was a reverse fridge-horror moment because his next incarnation is a gloppy terrormonster who tries to murder her
And even years after I wrote it, I’m just like
Yeah totally it was a sentimental nod to reincarnation........
