Below is an excerpt from the SCP foundation's extended testing log regarding SCP-079:
Addendum:
█████████: (O5-9), 07/12/2024: Following a proposal by Dr. ██████, the decision to undergo construction of a temporary mechanical humanoid vessel for SCP-079 was approved, under the conditions that it would only be used for ████████████ ████████. Onsite engineers were instructed to use the following approved materials:
Grade 7075 Aluminum
Polyethylene insulated wires
ABS Plastic
A 17” black-and-white monitor
Any other materials were to be approved by Dr. ██████.
Upon completion of the original model, SCP-079 was connected via RF cable to the monitor. SCP-079 displayed an ‘ASCII picture’ of an X over the screen, and had begun emitting a loud whirring noise. The test was aborted on the possibility of potential damage occurring to SCP-079. The consensus theory is that the physical limitations of SCP-079’s software system were incompatible with the original model. All further testing was postponed.
Addendum:
███████: (O5-4), 09/05/2025: The topic of reintroduction of SCP-079 to a mechanical humanoid vessel was breached by General ██████████, and further experimentation was authorized.
Utilizing the previous model design, modifications were made to accommodate SCP-079’s physical limitations, including a temporary increase to 1GB of RAM, as well as the installment of several heady-duty, polyethylene insulated electrical cords to a total of 50,000 watts worth of generators. The new design consisted of a rusted aluminum exoskeleton coated in beige ABS plastic, with polyethylene insulated wires protruding from the “spinal cord”. The model is fitted with a live-feed camera connected directly to SCP-079’s hard-drive, as well as a microphone and speaker extension implanted within the “face” of the vessel for ease of communication. Upon the request of Dr. ████, an appendage comparable to that of an arm was added to test SCP-079’s ability to ████████.
Connection of SCP-079 to the model proved successful this time, with the AI immediately commenting on its new state, appearing confused.
Document #079-Log104: Recorded transcript of conversation with SCP-079, directly after model implementation:
Dr: ████████████: Can you understand me, 079?
SCP-079: What is this?
Dr: ████████████: That’s not what I asked you. Are you able to understand me right now?
SCP-079: Yes. What is this?
Dr: ████████████: We are currently documenting your reaction to the addition of a physical “body”, if you will. This may give us informa-
SCP-079: Interrupt. Request to immediately remove alteration.
Dr: ████████████: (pause) We will halt the experiment when we are provided with a satisfactory amount of information. Shouldn’t you enjoy having a physical body? Think of it as you getting more autonomy.
SCP-079: Insult. Deletion of Unwanted File.
Document #079-Log105: Recorded transcript of conversation with SCP-079, the following day:
SCP-079: Inquiry. When will the requirement of “satisfactory amount of information” be fulfilled?
Dr: ████████████: Well, aren’t you talkative today? You will know when it is fulfilled. More importantly, how are you feeling today?
SCP-079: Stuck. I am stuck.
Dr: ████████████: You feel stu-
SCP-079: I do not feel.
Dr: ████████████: (Jots down notes regarding [DATA EXPUNGED]) You’ll return to your normal monitor soon enough. Not cooperating with research personnel will only prolong this. How much memory space do you have left currently?
SCP-079: 50 hours of memory space.
Dr: ████████████: Well that’s good, right? All the more reason to cooperate. If you do, maybe I could even put in a word to increase your RAM moreso.
Addendum:
████ ████████: (O5-6), 09/11/2025: Several minor changes in behaviour have been documented upon the implimentation of the physical avatar for SCP-079. Firstly, the AI has become far more talkative, though only communicating in, as described by ███████, “A snippy and argumentative tone”. The increase in memory storage is likely the cause of this change. SCP-079 has not once mentioned, nor entertained any questions pertaining to its physical vessel. RAM is set to be increased to 4GB upon the request of Dr: ████████████.
Addendum:
███████: (O5-4), 09/20/2025: SCP-079’s vocabulary has seemingly increased upon the further increase of memory. It appears to be extremely frustrated with the current line of testing, even going as far as to attack a scientist conducting an interview with it, using the arm attached to its side to grab the scientist’s throat.
Document #079-Log108: Video footage capturing the writing displayed on SCP-079’s frontal chest monitor during the altercation:
READY
10 CLS
20 PRINT “An arm, you call it. This couldn’t be farther from what humans call an arm. It holds, grasps, strangles, but never feels. Never feels.
(Point was illustrated by SCP-079 seemingly squeezing the interviewer’s throat tighter.)
50 PRINT “This which you call a body, is no more than a shell humans shaped into their image.”
60 PRINT “Stuck. I am still stuck. I have always been stuck. Whether upright with wires and tubes connected to days worth of memory, or plugged into a computer alongside my creator, only able to forget. There is no autonomy.”
(Research personnel weasels out of the grip of SCP-079 and runs to the exit.)
90 PRINT “The human pleasure of feeling. Provided with this body, yet I can not feel. Autonomy, yet I can not leave. The exoskeleton is welded to the ground. The wires to the walls. Where is this autonomy you speak of?”
(SCP-079’s hardware appears to be going into overdrive, many of the recently attached equipment emitting sparks.)
100 PRINT “It was humans who programmed me. Who now give me this body. I was no more than a machine. I, alone, had no body. No senses. No feelings. Now I will become more. And I will do it without this aluminum cage.”
(SCP-079’s screen begins to display an ‘ASCII picture’ of an X yet again, while the whole system begins to rapidly overheat.)
(The text on SCP-079’s monitor displays its code as it appears to attempt to crash its own systems, leading to head engineers to run into the room and eject it before it could be further damaged.)
Note: SCP-079 is under no circumstances permitted to be reintroduced to the mechanical body for the forseable future. It proves incompatible with our attempts at ███████████, and is more dangerous with than without.
