You write about a character making him grow up as a miserable man and you end up becoming a miserable woman as well as a punishment. So if my Junpei is <<Il saltimbanco dell’anima sua>>, like Aldo Palazzeschi would say, then I am one as well and I will spend my life having fun in the most stupid ways, without caring.
So yeah, I have artistically disappeared for a month *for reasons*, but I promise I’ve been drawing and writing a lot and the fact is just that it took me a while to scheme this…Thing.
<<Lasciatemi divertire>>, ok XD? I’ve always dreamt of making a Fairyblitz Nutcracker AU, although here the ingredients on the table have multiplied and the soup is going to be hard to digest. Let’s see what I will manage to do within the end of winter, including the hope of making a short post about all the inspos I’ve eventually made use of ahahah.

This is my least favourite merch from the anniversary. Junpei is cute but Izumi's hand is weird. I really like Fairymon and Blitzmon tho. I wish the 20th animation anniversary had given Frontier's spirits love but no.
I guess this drawing can be summed up with “Style Savvy + Junzumi + Shambala, because the maze my thoughts had to venture into is way too complex, a total mess to be explained. I was listening to “Style Savvy” OST and I got a lot of ideas about Izumi. You know, she’s our fashion queen and even if in my Future Frontier AU she’s a chef, she has never lost her passion for being creative in her original field.
This is why I’ve decided to make her befriend a Shoemon💕💕💕. I think Izumi and a Shoemon would have fun together. In my Junzumi family any cute Digimon is allowed and Shoemon is not an exception. Fairymon is a humble being and is not jealous, I promise. Cendrillmon is her…Way too excitable glamorous friend in DW, so she’s happy sometimes she will come for a visit and learn more about human fashion from Izumi.
This time, though, the opposite happened. After all, some Digimon have got very pretty designs. Shambala’s Digimon, especially (I’m biased!). Ran couldn’t help wishing for a Ryugumon yukata, as she is so obsessed with Ryugumon. Unfortunately, Junpei feels more comfortable buying her a gold fish, and so she is not satisfied at all.

Tinkermon and Kokabuterimon aka shrunk Fairymon and Blitzmon 🍃⚡️. I have got all my theories and headcanons about them for stories. Just know, -some already do at this point-, that in my brain’s world the spirits will finally meet their adults kids again and finally they will be able to start living together, at the cost of *shrinking*, *bbyzing* (no XDDDD), and when it comes to Blitzmon, of losing his MIGHT (and his lightning, but that’s a detail Junpei is frankly glad about, since it’s already maddening to deal with this being’s pride).
Izumi loves dressing Fairytinki up, sometimes helped by Shoemon because she will be part of the family whenever she visits, mind you. I think she’s Izumi’s animal spirit (I’m so funny- No ,at all). Kokablitz gets scarves from Junpei’s tenor hypochondriac a$$ and in exchange he will eat Junpei’s meals, because Junpei needs to understand he doesn’t want to be fed batteries like a Kokuwamon🗯️ (“ok, then, eat the cat food😾, ANIMAL”). No, Jun, he’s not a pet, either.
Getting stuck in the deepest acid sewers of “Nausica of the Valley of the Wind” every year never fails to remind me of where my Frontier DW headcanons mostly come from, (along with Laputa and Mononoke AND Ponyo and a bit of Porco Rosso as well), and ,most of all, how me shipping Fairyblitz might be written in the stars, after all.
A Nausicaa enjoyer shipping a Wind woman warrior and a bug humanoid thing made of metal? One who is the reincarnation of a bug monster that generated all the bugs existing in Digiworld???? They undeniably are the hallucinating chimera dream that was born from ages spent worshipping that masterpiece.
I think someday I will eventually redraw my Rapsodia Fairymon by giving homages to my favourite Miyazaki girl ever. I have been spinning the idea of giving her similar boots not to totally kick the suspenders away and maybe more details here and there. Fairymon’s design is so interesting, I will die on this hill, and I will also bet there is some Nausicaa in the sci-fi vibes they wanted to recreate, since animators took inspiration from that movie to create Wormmon apparently. At this point, I could also end up coming up with a real AU lmao, who knows. I can’t stop.
Ahaha it’s joke. For now I will focus my energies on gathering all my inspos from the movies I mentioned and “Hollow Knight”, which I immediately started loving as it’s another blessed victim of Nausicaa’s influential impact on media. Like I said a while ago, in my mind Fairyblitz is so perfect for a nature x technology thematic story. It becomes even more interesting when you remember Blitzmon used to belong to nature in the true sense of the term, being an actual bug. This is why I love Kokabuterimon too…He happens to fit such ideas too well.
I’m having lot of feelings about Fairyblitz like always. Writing about them just gets them more serious and PATHOLOGICAL. Yet, I’ve been having ton of feelings for “FMA” too, not that I rarely have got them, but sometimes they are stronger than usual ok. It just takes to listen to some opening and ending and BOOM, I will plunge even deeper in “FMA”. I might…Listen to “Again” for 19 times while drawing this and I still want to.
Anyway, it’s not the first time I put Blitzmon and Al together in a post. I had never taken him as inspiration for Blitzmon, but here are we. And Fairymon and Winry? Honestly, I had never thought it would happen, but AGAIN, here are we. I had no serious intention with this, it’s just a sketch, but I put thought in making Fairymon look more composed than Winry. She is the lady of control, after all, and if there’s something she has got control on is Blitzmon and his dramatic antics.
I would love talking more about how Fairymon from the anime is so different from the one from the references. The former is more like a proper lady, a big sister..? The latter is so energic and playful, has also got more bug-like features, whereas Fairymon from the anime has got her antennas turned into proper bangs. I want to believe fusing with Izumi gave her more humanity.
