Hello! I am new to your tumblr and have been doing a binge read of it. I have a quick question. Are there any keywords for searches to find fabric prints that look lolita? I found a few sewing patterns to try, but I am having a hard time with the fabric. I have never done lolita sewing before so I want my first try to look decent. Thank you!

In the past I’ve said that shiny satin doesn’t work, and I’m working through that past biases but I still don’t fully know how to coord my pink satin meta dress so we’re working through it but I don’t have the answer yet. Remember that you can find really good prints in quilt cotton, but you usually need to do some kind of lining.
For a first dress, I like to recommend cotton twill or cotton sateen, or a matte opaque silky poly (or silk or nylon or anyone filament yarn fabric if you want) print, depending on what style you’re trying to get and your sewing experience with silky fabrics. That’s nowhere near a hard and fast rule, though. The code’s more like guidelines, anyway. You’ll get a better result from research than you’ll get from that specific concept that I just vague’d here.
I was wondering if anyone could help me find the blanket/fabric in the picture?
It was light blue with large darker blue stripes and thinner yellow and pink stripes that alternated in columns and thin green stripes going down as rows
It was an old baby blanket that I no longer have and wanted to see if the fabric was still out there

Does anyone know where I can buy Deadpool fabric, preferably just in a regular cotton, that isn't $18 a yard? My niece requested a Deadpool blanket and I think it would be really fun to make, but the fabrics I have found so far are really expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know what the name of the orange fabric in the picture is? I made it last year but want to check up on fabric care and can't go to Jo-Anne's to check because they're closed
it's a short fuzzy with one of those 'you rub it one against the grain and there is a visible difference' fabrics

its a relatively thin fabric, very soft, almost like short faux-fur but its definitely not that.

it's very soft and a little curly and the shade of yellow is basically spot on (much better than the fabric i've been using lol)
